Dining Plan left over credit question

We are planning an adults only meal for one night while our kids go to one of the Disney kids clubs - this will mean we have two credits left on our dining plan.

Can we book a character breakfast on the day we leave using these two credits and pay for either us or the kids OOP?

I just returned from WDW and was on the dining plan. Yes, you can use the credits and pay seperately for the remainder.
