Dining Plan--I'm so excited what they told me!!!!

Research has shown that people eat a lot for 3 days then really taper off. We had done the FnF when it was available and found this true for us as well. If they require for entire LOS and for the entire party, it will likely only be workable for shorter trips. Plus they will likely require a 3 day minimum, they did with the FnF for most of it's life. While it may give you choices, it will likely not save most people money.

Also remember, (this I read on someones personal experience with the dining plan) that you can take your desserts to go as well as any leftovers AND since we all have kitchens...:flower:

I REALLY HOPE THIS HAPPENS, I have it all planned out...

I know I would love to take a desert home to have late that night or even the next morning! YUM. I think the grapefruit cake from the Brown Derby would be especialy yummy for breakfast!

The plan would work great for us...DH is 6'4", a big man, he always eats my entree...I'd eat the appetizer and three bites of dessert, he would take care of the rest. As for the counterservice...DS and DH would split my side and dessert...we would save a ton of money. I am really hoping it becomes an option...the DDE would also save us money because DH likes a drink or two before dinner, while I stick with wine...maybe we should try DDE ? All these decisions, I can't stand it ! The cruise is easier...they give DH double portions and bring me samples.

i am a penny pincher and LOVE the food, so i got out my calculator and it is a awesome deal

At this time you may only purchase the dining plan if you have booked a room/tickets package through Disney.

I just found out that most of the restaurants in World Showcase are not participating in the MYW Plan! That totally changes everything for me! I mean I think thats where you could totally get your money's worth!?!? I just don't get it... oh well :sad2:

Is there a current list somewhere of who's participating? I could swear that the first list I saw had a lot of the WS restaurants - San Angel, Marrakesh, etc., but now I'm wondering if I confused that with a list for the DDE. If those restaurants aren't on the list that really changes the game for me. If it was a list for the DDE it had almost everything I could think of.

This is the lastest posted program brouchure that Disney has on line. MYW dining plan guide. It looks to be the same one that was on line back in early January. So it might be out of date.

Frequently the ones not owned by Disney don't participate in these discounts whether it be DDE, AP, DVC or similar. There will be some variation so it helps to look at all options if you have certain restaurants in mind. As a DVC member you have essentially all discount options available. All you don't have is the MYW dining option.

These are the included restaurants for DDE. Not sure if these are different from MYW or not. As you can see, there are a few Epcot WS restaurants, but certainly not all of them, and definitely not my favorite Mitsokoshi Dining rooms!

do you have an ap? because if you don't, you can't get the DDE...

OOPS, I forgot to mention that! Yes, you DO need an AP to purchase DDE, but with the new DVC discount, I was assuming that! We have always had APs since joining DVC, and now it will be financially worth it!

Yeah, we don't have one, but I'm thinking it's definitely worth getting one. Even if we only go once a year, we can go the second year one week earlier and get another vacation out of it, and it will still be a good bit less than getting 2 expiring MYW passes, or one big one that doesn't expire. So we were planning on that already.

Even before the discount, that was the plan of action we have chosen for our DVC trips. Of course, originally, we were only going to use it for one trip a year, offset by 51 weeks instead of 52, but we just HAVE to go more times than that! ;) We usually end up with an AP that starts the second week of January one year, we travel one other time during that year, and then again the 1st week of January the next year. We also do not renew, but instead buy a whole new pass after 12 months have passed.

Yep, that's the plan here too. I feel so close to you :earboy2: !

Now hopefully my husband will think we also need to make more trips! Hey, we already have the pass!

Forgive me if this question has already been asked:

Will the Dining plan only be available with Park ticket purchases? or, will DVC members be able to purchase the dining plan with any stay?

Have they proposed a plan to DVC members?

I would love it!! I'll never cook on vacation, I don't care how large the kitchen is!!!! LOL
