We are trading through RCI to stay at Old Key West in May 2011. Are we allowed to either receive the free dining if offered the week we are going or purchase the dining plan? We are NOT DVC owners. Thank you.
You may add the dining plan to your reservation by calling DVC Member Services (the number should be on your confirmation).
Free dining is a promotion offered to guests staying on a cash reservation at rack rate, with purchase of tickets. It's not available for DVC point stays.
Thank you. We are trading our week that we own elsewhere to stay on Disney property so my understanding that we can buy the plan but are not entitled to it if it is a free dining time...am I correct? We are not points.
You are not eligible for free dining with this type of reservation. However, you can purchase the dining plan of your choice through DVC member services. The DVC member services phone number should not be posted here. However, if you are trading in, you should have been given that information. You must call Member Services no later than 48 hours prior to arrival to have a dining plan added to your reservation.
I've always wondered if you plan a trip using DVC points if you were allowed to get the free DDp option. Thanks for the information!
DVC points reservations are never eligible for free dining. The only way to get free dining is to book a full price, undiscounted room as a package reservation through CRO (or via a travel agent who books through CRO) with at least two-day park tickets for each person age 3 or over, checking in on a date that is eligible for the free dining promotion.
