We are heading for our 2nd (April) and 3rd trip (Sept) with our family, it's my husband and I, our two daughters (2 and 3) and my parents. The first trip in Sept 2014 we chose the following:
- Chef Mickeys - not so great food, but priceless experience
- Akershus - loved everything, food and experience
- Biergarten - experience better than food, but good food too
- Hollywood and Vine - character lunch - AMAZING!
- The Wave - good food, bad service
- Le Celier - date night less the kids, LOVED IT
- The Plaza - good diner food, good value
- Tony's Town Square - glorified Olive Garden, just ok

We are looking for suggestions for April and May, we like to do at least 2-3 character meals for the kids and my parents and my husband and I also appreciate good food so a few nicer restaurants that we can bring the kids too. We are lucky to get a date night (sans kids) out dinner, so we are looking for suggestion for a quiet finer dining option too. We aren't sure if we should book the same or try something new. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance :)

We love the Crystal Palace for breakfast, which is Pooh and Friends, and Cape May is good for breakfast as well if you are staying in that area. We have also done 1900 Park Faire for breakfast when my guys were little because they loved Mary Poppins. I don't do dinner buffets so my experience is only with breakfast.

For date night, I would like to try flying fish myself, but haven't yet. We all really enjoy Chef's de France, and Via Napoli in EPCOT and my boys loved Sci Fi when they were small.

Have a great time!

We really love the breakfast at Tusker House in AK for a nice character breakfast with excellent food. For nicer restaurants we love Sanaa and Yachtsman Steakhouse. Enjoy!

Tusker house is by far the best character meal on property. And the only one we've made a return visit to. The food is leaps and bounds above the others. I've also heard good things about garden grill in Epcot, which is served family style vice buffet but haven't been myself.

For date night I'd suggest flying fish or Jiko.

Thank you! We booked Cape May, Via Napoli and Flying Fish. We are staying at Bay Lake Towers, do you think it will be too difficult to get to Cape May for a 9:45 reservation? My girls don't know any of the Winne Pooh or Mary Poppins characters yet but I would love to check those places out as soon as they show some interest.

Thank you for the input, much appreciated. I never even thought of Tusker House, going to look into that now! Also looking forward to date night at Flying Fish

Tusker house is brilliant - been both for breakfast and lunch. Food great and character interaction brilliant! Booked to go again next trip.

For date night we loved jiko animal kingdom lodge again food superb and so was the service. As a plus you get to see all the animals before dinner aswell.

9:45 is doable for sure, but with little ones I might consider a taxi. You can take the bus to the Studios and then the boat to Beach Club as long as you leave yourself enough time.
