You can't use your points for the dining plan (not to my knowledge) so you have to pay 40.00 pp per night.

DVC points can be used for accomodations only. You inform Member Services you want the DDP, and they link it to you DVC reservation. You pay for the plan at check-in.

All occupants of the room must have the same plan for the entire length of the reservation. You are on your own as far as park tickets, for DVC there is no requirement to buy park tickets through Disney as part of the dining package.

DVC does get some sort of discount on DDP. We have gotten it the last two years. I don't think they advertise it but when I have gotten it in the past I paid way less than they advertise. Around 20%.

That is incorrect. There is no DDP discount for DVC members. Annual Passholders can purchase the TIX, formerly known as the DDE. This card gives you 20% off of virtually all Disney operated table service restaurants.

you can use any of the dinning plans - thinking about quick service myself - it is $29.99 and you get a mug.

so first you have to decide which one to use.

MS say we could get any of the plans.

Well if it is incorrect I am getting one heck of a deal on my Deluxe Dinning Plan for this July. It should cost me around $1200 at the advertised price, I am paying 900. :cool1:

How many nights, how many people, and what ages?

The Deluxe DDP is about $72 per adult (age 10+) per night of the reservation, and $21 per night per child 3 to 9.

I am interested to know as well, I was going to call today and add on the dining plan popcorn::

I'm interested as well. Our next trip is in October 2009 and we haven't decided on whether or not to get the DDP. If there's a way for a discount, we'd love to know it. :goodvibes

I'd suggest calling and making sure you've been booked for the Deluxe Dining Plan and not the regular. The Disney Dining Plans are not discounted for DVC members.

We had the Deluxe plan for our Jan trip. it was way too much food. We often were not hungary at the end of the day if we had lunch too. This time we are doing the CS plan.

Two adults, two children for 5 nights. The kids are 6 and 8.

Last year we got it as well and it was $899. This year they went up but my total was only slightly higher. And yes this was the deluxe.

Why would you think that adds up to $1,200 and you're getting a deal? :confused3

Do the math again. You're paying full price just like the rest of us.

72*2= 144 (adults per night)
21*2= 42 (kids per night)
144+42=186 (total per night)
186*5= $930 (Deluxe DDP total for 5 nights)

Sounds like full price to me.

just wondering

if u could mix & match the DP for a long staypopcorn::

im sure the answer is no;)

for long stay, sure would be nice to be able to book deluxe for a few days, then drop down to lower level:wizard:

I'd like to hear this answer also. Would be neat to switch off every other too if that was possible. Or pick the days you want the deluxe DP.

No, you can not mix or match during any one stay. But an option would be to split the stay between two room types or resorts (or even booking categories, like preferred view and standard view). Yes, you'd have to move, but they are separate reservations and you can have different DDPs for each reservation.

No discount for us, just booked DDP for our visit and it was the same cost as posted.
