Dining plan for DVC renter??

Hi! I rented my points to a friend and they were interested in the dining plan. Is that something that they can get since they are renting?? If so, how would they go about doing that? Can they do that at check-in or would I have to call MS for them?? Thanks in advance for any info

You have to have it on the reservation for them to get it, but they don't pay for it until they check in. It is actually a booked part of the reservation, and when we added the dining plan to our December ressie, they sent us a new confirmation letter.

You will need to call MS to get it added. They cannot call MS anymore.

They can not get it on checkin. You have to call and add it prior to their arrival. I've heard you need to call a minimum of five days in advance, three days in advance, and I've heard of people calling after landing at MCO and adding it...but it's supposed to be done prior.

As Diane said, they don't pay until checkin. You might also advise them that all members of their party have to be physically present at checkin.

BTW, there is an entire DDP board over in the restaurant section of the DIS. As usual, most of the posts are minutiae, but the stickies at the top of the board explain the plan well and have links to the DDP brochures.
