Dining Plan confusion, any thoughts please?

I've read your DDP credits expire at midnight the day you check out of your hotel, which makes sense but a conversation I had with a CM today left me confused.

We're staying at Coronado Springs resort Nov. 21st - 25th. We got the Dining Plan with that. We also ordered 8 day park hopper passes. While we're only going to be at CS 4 nights, we're going to be in Orlando all the next week and will visit WDW then from off site. I called Disney because the park hopper passes were not included in the reservation package sent out although they were listed. The CM explained they are now attached to your room key, you don't get separate passes with the packages.

I asked how that would work since we check out on the 25th but will be coming back the next week off site. I was worried checking out would expire the key card and thus the park hopper passes. She said no, the park hopper passes won't expire from the room key until all 8 days are used. She then said (and this is what confused me) if we didn't use all of our dining plan options the 4 days we're there they would be available to use anytime the rest of the week after we check out because the dining plan is also associated with the room key. I told her I had read the credits expired at midnight when we checked out but she said no, because of the room key thing.

Does this make sense to anyone?

She was wrong. The park hopper expires 14 days after first use (unless you have the non-expirey option) but DDP is tied to your reort reservation and expires midnight of checkout.

Your room key is also your hopper, but has a different expiration system.

Wow, that is confusing when you think about it like that. But it will work for you

Glad you got a good answer here. :rolleyes1

Completely :offtopic: but WDW4ever, I have the framed pin set of your avatar! :goodvibes

Ok, we're going Dec 9 - 12 & have the base dining plan. Now, is the gratuity included or do I have to tip? I've read conflicting reports on this.

Thanks,

Steve

2007? The gratuity is included. Disney will pay it to your server in their next paycheck.
