Dining plan at BC Marketplace??

Can you use a CS credit at the Beach Club Marketplace for sandwiches and stuff?

I asked MS this question and they told me (unfortunately) "No". The reason they gave was that BC Marketplace isn't a dedicated food location, it's just part of a bigger store. All the places which take credits for DDP must be locations which are dedicated to food. I accepted that explanation, but I'm not sure I totally buy it-and I really wish they'd reconsider. The ultimate would be if gelato was a snack on the plan. But the fact that you can't use your DDP credits there for a CS meal is a real inconvenience, I think. It honestly makes me think twice about using the DDP for my next BCV stay. Although, as she pointed out, you can use CS credits at Hurricane Hannas.

I've seen people in the marketplace getting food on the dining plan. The CM actually pulled out a xerox'ed sheet of paper showing the customer what she could have. I don't know if it was "meals" or "snacks"....but, she was definitely getting food.

We were at BCV in Aug and used our snack credits for fruit and for the rice krispy treats.

This is a good question. Last December we weren't sure about it, because it wasn't listed on the brochure as a CS, and I thought that they might treat it like a "store" and not a "restuarant." But we called down and they said they took it, and we went down and they did take it with no problem at all. Also, we learned that you can use your snacks at some places that seem like "stores" but you can't at others (I don't think the mercantile at wilderness lodge took them, but not 100% sure on that). But we definitely used a CS at the beachclub marketplace to get some salads for lunch.

I asked a similar question on the Dining Plan Board as I too would like to use the dining plan there for my check out date as I am leaving early in the morning and would like to purchase breakfast items with some leftover CS options. Hope to get some replies there as well so you may want to read that board.
