Dining Plan are meals still pooled?

Hi: Are the meals still pooled? If so can we take a visitor who is not on the dining plan out to dinner, are we allowed to use one of our table service credits for the meal?

I emailed Disney about that very same thing and this is the response that I got this morning.

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World Resort.

Although we appreciate your interest, please know that your meal credits cannot be used to pay for
your friends' meals.


Oh well, I guess I will change my plans yet again.

I believe someone just posted on another thread that Disney had changed it and they are no longer pooled, now on each persons ticket!

When we were there last week ( 10/16 - 10/23) they were still pooled. That could have changed in a week, but ours were pooled. We were 3 adults and each card had all credits for all 3 on them.

I don't know from personal experience, but it seems like from the posts this week they are sometimes checking the number of guests vs what is written on the card. So they are still pooled essentially, but if you walk in with 6 adults and your card says 2 adults, often now they are not letting you use 6 credits on one meal. Does this make sense? At least that seems like what I've been reading. No one has said, for example, if you have two credits left that Disney knows if it is a "child" or "adult" credit.
