Dining plan and people arriving later

I am staying at Jambo for a week at the end of March. I have booked the deluxe dining plan for myself. My friend will be coming for part of the trip. I will add her to the room once she gets there. Will adding her mess up the dining for me? I was told I can share table service credits now so the plan was just to use my dining to cover both of us while she was there. Anyone ever do it?

You will both need to be on the plan for the entire stay.

There have been reports of guests being added to reservations on site, not being added to the plan but my guess is that it's up to the CM.

December visit my DH came 4 days into our family trip of 8 days. They would not let me add him without adding him to the DP. He would not get a MB or be able to book FP or the Magical Express if he was not added prior. We hacked our reservation into 2 and only had DP for the 4 days extending into the 5th. It was the only solution, since I was not paying for food he could not possibly eat. People say you can add, but you would not get a MB and FP+ access prior to trip.

The last couple of years it's not generally been possible to add guests to the room listing during the stay where it was previously, DP or not. Apparently to do so they have to cancel the reservation and rebook it and those who have been around these boards a while know that has a significant risk of messing up a lot of things including putting the points used in holding and pulling other points. Plus to do so purposefully to avoid the DP rules would be dishonest. I'd split it up so that you have 2 separate reservations then either add the DP for only your part if you don't want it for your friend or possibly for both is you do. Or it might be better just to forego the DP for this situation.
