I've recently become aware that dining plan credits can be "exchanged" and used as snack credits during food and wine festival? How exactly does this work, and is this a reasonable use of dining plan credits? Meaning.....what's the exchange rate per se? If i'm phrasing that right?

I always knew you could make a quickserve meal into a certain number of snacks....but that always seemed silly to me....until I heard food and wine items are considered snacks. Does anyone know the exact "exchange" amounts of what each dining credit is worth and is this even closely economical to paying just cash outright? I'm not looking for a down to the penny comparison.....but don't some of those food and wine items aproach $7-9?

It has been 3 snack credits per QS credit in the past. All snacks had to be purchased at the same booth when doing the exchange and the ability to exchange QS for snacks was at the discretion of each booth.

No news as to whether this will continue in 2019.

ETA: Not every item on the F&W menus is eligible as a snack credit. Nothing containing alcohol. Getting your money’s worth will vary, depending on what is made available as snacks. I suggest following the F&W thread on the Restaurants Board after the festival starts to see what this year’s best values are.

AH.....that's a BIG clarification. I never heard it had to be at the same booth. I don't think I'm going to eat 3 of those lobster rolls at the America booth haha.

The conversion has been available for a while (not just for F&W) and has always required to be as a single transaction.

We were never big dining plan people as it requires waaaay to much planning. So i never really looked into the details of it. I had assumed it was kinda like a bank transaction where you just called and had 1 switched to the other. Didn't know it was done at the food counter itself.

Keep in mind that the DDP also gives you 2 snacks per day. So on a 4 night stay each guest has 8 snack credits that they can use at F & W. For our family, the DDP makes the most sense during F & W because I would be too cost conscious to enjoy it if I was paying OOP. (But maybe that's just me!)

You can typically exchange one QS credit for 3 snacks at the booths but it must be done all during the same transaction. And you do lose the drink, so it's not typically a great value.

I think the QS dining plan is the best for F&W if you plan on using snack credits at the booths. There are a lot of choices using snack credits.

Yeah... The catch is I can't arrive until a day after my family due to work. We have a 5 night stay... But I'll only be ther for 4 nights. Probably not cost effective (especially since my son will be 10 this trip). Always worth weighing all options though
