Dining Plan- 11YO?

Is an 11 year old considered a child on the dining plan- i.e. can only order off of the kid's menu?

I looked for information, but couldn't find anything about age ranges.

Children ages 10 and up are considered "adults". If you're on the dining plan, you will pay the adult price and the child can order off the adult menu.

A couple of years ago, my DS was a very small 10 year old (less than 60 pounds), I wasn't too happy about paying the adult rate. It ended up being worth every penny, he developed a taste for filet!

I have a 10 year old who I know for certain he will still want to order off the kids' menu. He's going to turn into a macaroni noodle I swear!

My 12 yo and my 16 yo were allowed to order from the children's menu upon occasion at table service resturants. It wasnt a full meal but sometimes they could get the appetizer or the desert from the children's menu. I have read of some instances that the chef would prepare the child type food in "adult" size portions but it varies from resturant to resturant - but it never hurts to ask. But- regardless of what was ordered- they were considered adults on the dinning plan and that was the price I paid.


Examples: Hoop De Doo- 16 yo wanted hot dog and fries
Spirit of Aloha - both girls wanted mac and cheese instead of rice
Counter service- paid out of pocket and have bought child breakfast for myself.
CRT- Girls were allowed to have lettuce and ranch for their appetizer and the kids sundae for desert.


So you never know- and it never hurts to ask

Anyone on the dining plan, even adults, are allowed to order off of the kids menu. That's just makes Disney even more money.

The child dining plan is available for ages 3-9. Anyone age 10 and over must purchase the adult plan. While children MUST order off the children's menu, if you are 10 and over you have the option of ordering from either menu if you wish. The exceptions are at buffets and all you can eat family style or fixed menu meals. Adults must pay the adult price at those (doesn't matter on the dining plan though as adults use adult credits and children use child credits)

In Sept we ate at "TUTTO ITALIA" and we had my DS Best Friend(13 years old)
and he wanted a Kids Pizza--this was not allowed.
Since he was considered an adult by Disney he could only order off
of the Adult Menu. I guess it's up to the individual Restaurant.
He could have passed for a 10 year old--he's very small but they asked how
old he was.

YES, we were all on the Dining Plan.
We had an older Gentleman waiter and he said
that he had to order from the adult menu.
I thought it was great because this kid was not
adventureous and needed to start trying different
foods--can't live on pizza, hot dogs, burgers ect.
So happy I don't have that problem with my DS
who loves trying new things.
