Dining package for Pointer Sisters concert?

Opinions please: I'm old but I guess the Pointer Sisters would be popular? LOL We will be in Epcot Monday afternoon/evening March 27 and really want to see them. We don't have to have great seats but would like to be able to get decent seats. I'd say 30 min in line would be the max we would want to wait. (We are wimpy.) Even though we like to eat at the food booths, I'm considering a dining package reservation so we have a guaranteed seat with less wait. Looks like Spice Road Table is not as expensive and is a smaller meal. Or would a 30 min wait in the standby line get me a decent seat?

There are three half hour sets with a 30-45 minute break (I forgot exact time) between each set. About 20-25 minutes before each set, dining package guests are let in on one side of the theater and they get the first few rows on that side of the theater. Then about 10-15 minutes before each set, the standby guests who are queuing on the other side of the theater are let in to fill in all of the available space. Depending on the act, the theater fills quickly. After the first set, the entire theater empties. If you want to see the second set standby, you immediately go and queue in the standby line again. Same process for third show. If you want to see all three sets, this is your process unless you have a dining package in which you will be able to use that line for one of the three sets. The die hard fans will start queueing at least one hour prior to the first set. The most you will stand in line for the second and third set will be 30-45 minutes (again I forget the exact time). If you want good seats for the second or third set without a dining package and without seeing the first set, you start queuing right before the first set ends before the crowd rushes out and gets back in line. Same with the third set. Whether you can get a good seat by getting in the standby line after each set really depends on the act and popularity, but in most of the posts I’ve seen, people were able to get into the theater at the last minute for most acts.

I believe we walked up and got seats just before the Pointer Sisters when we saw them a few years ago. I'd actually give it a chance for their first set, and go from there. I don't think you'd need to wait in line an hour to get a seat to see them.

Thanks for the info. I thought maybe a Monday evening wouldn’t be so bad either. We saw Kenny G in Nov and I thought he was a pretty big name but the theater was only 2/3 full. Again, I’m old.

I really like the seats you get with the dining package. We always do a Regal Eagle package lunch - it's the cheapest walk-up and the food is good, IMHO. We then arrive when the theater opens, get great seats (usually a few rows back just next to the steps, center stage, and enjoy the show (Sheila E came down and sang right to us last fall!). You will probably still get in arriving 30 minutes prior to the show and doing standby, but they won't be as good as the package seats.

I saw them last year, and walked right in. No dining package, or waiting in line in my experience last spring.
