We are trying to decide where to eat as part of the dinner package for the candlelight processional. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, how do you go about getting tickets if your not doing the dinner package?

Thanks,
Lisa

If you are not doing the dinner package there are no tickets. You just get in the standby line for the show you want to see. There is no guarantee you will be able to get a seat, so try to get there early.

We have ressies to see the 5pm show on 12/23, our 24th anniversary. The boys, teens, weren't interested and will go off and do their own thing. We decided on France for our dinner at 6:45. We have been there over the holidays 3 times and never have done the CP. Looking forward to it.

We'll be dining at Marrakesh. Great food, and not too far from CP.

We ate at Garden Grille last year. My kids & DH are VERY picky eaters and wouldn't eat at the other choices:(

the last 2 years we have eaten at teppanyki in japan. very good. this year we are dining at alfredo's in italy. this always makes for a nice evening out. :p

We always do the package and we have been very pleased. The discount on shopping is great!

We've eaten at LeCellier in 2000, Chefs de France in 2001, and we'll be back at Chefs de France on Dec 6, 5:20 PM, seeing the 8:15 show. Then Illuminations!!! What a great night!!!

We have see the CP without the package, but you may have to wait in line awhile. This year we are using the package - dinner at San Angel 4:30pm, CP 6:45pm - December 24.

Are the restaurants & prices for the Candelight dinners somewhere on this website? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks

I did Rose and Crown in 2000, Marrakesh in 2001 and back to Rose and Crown for 12/05 6:45pm show and 8:40pm dinner....hopefully we will have a window seat or be finishing right as Illuminations begins!

I recommend Chefs de France. It's pricey, but worth it IMHO. We went there on Christmas Day 2000, after seeing CP and we loved it. DH even ate snails!! We were surprised at how good it was and we only ended up there by accident - by the time we booked that year, there were only a few choices left, but we certainly got a good choice! ;)

We have done CP package since 1993 and our favorite is Le Cellier in Canada for dining part of package followed closely by Teppanaki at Japan our least favorite was Alfredo's in Italy. This year we are doing CP package twice we love the seats you get and it saves you from queing up 2 or 3 hours before show to get a seat.:D

We ate at Chef de France last year for the package and were not at all impressed. We have eaten at most Disney restaurants and this was probably the most disappointing meal ever. The service was adequate, thought lackluster, and it almost seemed as though the food was cooked earlier in the day and then reheated. I will not try this restaurant again.

Also, we did the 5pm processional, with dinner around 6:40. I would not recommend the first processional as it was not yet dark, and not nearly as dramatic as when viewed later at night.

We have been to WDW 4 times in Dec and now are doing CP for the first time. We picked Le Cellar as my DH loved it when we were there in June for our anniversary. We also thought DD's 16 and 20 wouldn't want to go. Our mistake, we will all be having a wonderful dinner at Le Cellar.....

Thanks everyone! We have pretty much narrowed it down to Chefs de France after reading the menu's at the various restraunts. Other than one negative report on here it sounds like a pretty good bet. I definetly want to see one of the later shows. I had now considered what time we had to eat to get to the show so thanks for bringing that up. Also, I would like to see Illuminations afterwards possibly, is there a good viewing site close by CP or the France pavilion?

I have seen Illuminations twice...once I was awe struck and the second time it was mediocre at best and all I can think is that the viewing position was not as ideal.

This is probably not the forum to post this on but any good ideas for something to do on a first night at WDW. We have a 7,5, and 2 year old. We are arriving on a Sunday afternoon (Dec. 1st) and have annual passes. Thanks again!

Lisa
