I've never eaten at any TS restaurant at Disney, but since I'm doing most of the planning for my honeymoon, I'd like to book something really special for at least one night. I've looked at some of the fancier restaurants and I don't think my fiancée or I would enjoy something "exotic" like African cuisine, etc. (Though I don't know this for sure, since we've never had it, but we both have pretty simple tastes.) I've booked an ADR at Sci-Fi at DHS, simply because the environment sounds awesome, but there's also a menu full of food that we know and enjoy. I'm definitely not opposed to trying something new, so does anyone have any suggestions for a "special" dining event, whether it's dessert, dinner, or even breakfast? Not necessarily looking for anything romantic, we would be just as happy at a Character Dining event, I just don't know where to start. All suggestions are appreciated! Thanks!

My boyfriend and I went last September, and our favorite meal hands down was breakfast at Boma. We had an ADR we made 180 days in advance, and then because we loved it so much, we made another reservation while we were there for the morning we were flying home! We are going again this September, and plan to go at least twice or possibly even 3 times this time! Lol, we just love breakfast foods, and Boma has some of the best we have ever had period. I could eat the French toast bread pudding every day for the rest of my life and not get sick of lolol. No characters here, but still a really cool atmosphere in the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge. Enjoy! :)

O'Hana at the Polynesian is our favorite restaurant. My daughter and her husband said it was their favorite restaurant on their honeymoon.

You will get many opinions because everyone has their favorites. We have eaten at Narcoossees in the Grand Floridian this is a signatures restaurant and if you time your reservation right they have a deck around the restaurant and you can go outside and see wishes from MK. We also like LeChefs de France in the France pavilion at Epcot. We have never had a bad meal there and the service has been excellent. Look at the menus and eat at the restaurant that appeals to you the most.

I agree with looking at the menus and see what appeals to you. Lots of people have lots of opinions on what is good to them, so make sure the suggestions match what you will eat and enjoy.

My suggestions: Rose and Crown in Epcot has food from the UK. We always enjoy it, and we usually time it so we can see Illuminations while/after eating. We also enjoy breakfast at Ohana with Lilo and stitch. Basic bacon and eggs and Mickey waffle breakfast, but the character interaction has been good when we have gone. Dinner there is also good, epecially the dessert. We also usually do a meal at Crystal Palace- DH, DS, and I are all big Pooh fans and the characters have never disappointed us there either. Finally, I would say Hacienda de San Angel. The parradilla was wonderful, and the margaritas were as well.

Hmmm, I'd go for classic American cuisine in your case. Branching out is great, as long as you are both on board with the potential of not loving it! Do that at home or when the stakes aren't so high.
The Wave may be a good option. We had wonderful service and really good food.
Raglan Rd bills itself as Irish but there's a definite departure into a more broad palate. Very good and you get a show. Very loud, though.
Captain's Grille at YC - one I want to visit on our next trip. Good reviews. I hear the atmosphere is nice and that's a big deal for me, along with tasty food.
Sanaa - I know you said exotic flavors are a question, but the menu is actually very friendly to American palates once prepared. Mom and I loved it and I can't wait to take DH and our younger kids. The unfamiliar flavors aren't authentic. Very toned down, but still very tasty. Steak, chicken, fish, etc. are all accessible.
Blue Zoo - If you are OOP, definitely this! Service, food, and cocktails are great.

I loved the service and food at Narcoossee's but it is LOUD. I had to yell at my dining companion to be heard. NOT romantic despite the fireworks.

I've never been to Artist Point at WL, but it sounds wonderful. Quiet, good food, usually good service. Very couple friendly!

EEP! I didn't realize there was a character breakfast with Stitch, he is my favorite! I just booked a 7:30 breakfast at 'Ohana… fiancée will not be happy to get up so early. Now to figure out how to get there from CSR…

Thank you! I will look into the places you've described. Now the problem is that we only have so much time and it definitely limits traveling from a park to a resort for a meal and then back to the park! So many choices!

We usually take a bus from BWV to MK and then hop the monorail. You can also call a taxi or Uber? We scheduled ours for 10:30 for this summer- that way we get some park time in and then get to eat. Less crowded, more time with the characters... ;) And now that Stitch is out of the parks, we had to do this meal so we could see him!

You'll get a narrower field of opinions if you state, "We'll be here, where should we eat for a romantic/entertaining/low-key evening?"

State your parameters and you'll get a nice pool from which to choose your poison. ;)

If you sign up for the über app you usually can get a $20 ride credit. That should be more then enough to get to the poly. Then just hop the monorail to Mk after breakfast and enjoy the day.
