Simple question,

If I purchase the Tables in Wonderland (DDE) card during this trip, can friends of ours coming in November use our card? Is there any ID'ing of the card, or is it just a card with no pictures or magnetic strip?

Thanks!

Your name is on the card and they have in the past asked for photo id. SO you can't loan out your card, plus it is against the DDE guidelines (you can't make me call it TiW):sad2:

You can use it WITH your friends at dinner and they would also get the discount. Hope htat helps

Nope, they are not transferrable. In fact, it used to be that you could get two cards, one for the wife, one for the dh. But they changed that policy to you get the one card, if you want a second card for another family member it will cost an addtl $25.
If someone were to allow friends to use their DDE (TiW) card, they could get to the restaurant and be asked for photo ID. I haven't been asked yet, but that's because I usually put my bill on my room key, and the names match up.

I have been asked for photo ID, even with room charging.

I too have been asked for ID, even when using a charge card and with a room key.

Can we purchase the DDE for the friend without them being present? Or do they need to be present when we purchase?

To purchase for your friends, you would have to have their Annual Pass vouchers or their Florida ID's.

Your friends can purchase their card for themselves several different ways. I found this online.

I was a passholder and know I needed my AP voucher info to order my card on the phone. I'd assume you'd need your Florida ID to purchase on the phone as well.

DISNEY DINING EXPERIENCE is a dining discount program for eligible Florida Residents and Annual Passholders 21 and older good for 20 percent off food and beverage at a number of Walt Disney World Resort hotel and theme park restaurants and lounges. The discount is good for up to 10 persons in your party.

I think it'd be better for your friends to get the card themselves. If it's a question of cost because you're gifting this to them - you can always get a $60 Disney Gift Card and they can purchase their card with that.

The cardholder must purchase the card. You cannot purchase a card for anyone else but you could buy a second card for a spouse. And your friend would have to prove that they are either an annual passholder or a Florida resident.
