I just have a quick question. I know that if you go to Remy or Palo then there is a strict dress code, but for regular rotational dining would it be okay to go in pajamas? And by that I mean a shirt and then pajama pants? (Nothing skimpy or spaghetti straps).

Thanks!

I mean, I guess you wouldn't get turned away, but I personally find it inappropriate. Do you wear pajamas out to dinner at home?

IMO, only little kids at breakfast should be out in pjs. Never dinner for anyone.

My friend and I both do sometimes. I go grocery shopping in my pj pants and used to even attend my high school and college classes in them, LOL. I have a lot of different ones but wanted to buy some Disney themed ones for our upcoming cruise.

Thanks for answering my question! :)

Yeah, no.

And I rarely get involved in dress code conversations. Just no.

That said, sounds like you already made up your mind, so not sure why you posted.

The rule.

I'm not so sure that you didn't ask the question in jest because it certainly made me chuckle. While what someone publicly wears to a large extent is personal freedom, my guess is that you might be turned away at the rotational dining venues even with their relaxed codes. Another coda to this discussion, just because one can do something doesn't mean one should.

Yes, I have already made up my mind. I wasn't asking if I should, I was asking if it was allowed.

I also didn't ask for opinions. I just wanted an answer. I didn't want to break the rules over something like dress code so that's why I asked. People here have been incredibly nice and helpful so far. I was bound to run into a few bad eggs.

And if wearing pajama pants is the worst thing I do in life... eh, well... I can live with that :)

I feel like it's riding a pretty fine line on the "Dining dress requirements vary by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general, Cruise Casual is the standard attire". Cruise casual doesn't say pjs to me. Casual doesn't even say pjs to me. IMO, you run a real risk of being turned away, so I'd at least have a backup outfit packed. Maybe go to dinner in regular clothes and have a cool late night snack up on deck in pjs?

No, that isn't okay.

If cruise casual is defined by Disney as shorts, I'm betting wearing your PJs is a huge no no. Why not do a chat and ask them to be sure?

So I'm going on the assumption that this post isn't serious but...

Maybe I'm alone in this but I'm pretty sure it is just understood that you wouldn't walk around anywhere on the ship especially a dining venue in night clothes. I mean it just seems like something that they wouldn't specifically spell out because you wouldn't think you would need too. Like the dress code doesn't say you can't dine in your underwear but obviously that isn't acceptable.

I'm pretty sure that if you walk in to a room full of people dressed appropriately and you are wearing pajamas, you are somewhat misinformed on who the "bad egg" is. I am curious, is there a specific reason you are determined to eat a 3 course dinner in your pajamas? Is it really that much of a thrill for you?

Out of respect for everyone else who does make an effort to get dressed, I would hope they would not allow you to dine until you're more appropriately dressed. It's a slippery slope to allow pj's in the MDR's. Have you looked at Carnival Cruise Line? They are great for the early 20 year olds. I had a blast when I was 23 on Carnial.

I was being serious. I'm fairly new here but so far I have enjoyed my time posting here. I think from now on I'll stay in another section. I certainly won't be back to this one.

I'm a bit shocked by the rude and judgmental responses, even though I shouldn't be. It is an internet message board after all :)

I think I got the answer I wanted. I'm not sure if I can request that a mod close the thread, but it's fine by me.

And if any of you do see me in my pjs on the cruise, feel free to stop by and say hi :)
