1) We've been value / mod vacationers, so we're used to having a food court. We don't mind eating cereal or oatmeal in our room if we have to, but we do (did?) like the occasional food court breakfast (not just pastries)

2) In looking at my plans, I have ZERO Epcot / Boardwalk dining ressies. We have a Sci Fi at DHS but that's it. We do plan on trying food from the Epcot Holiday Kitchens as much as possible since it's available during our trip.

3) We are planning on spending at least 50% of our time in the Epcot / HS / Boardwalk area.

4) One of my D's has a medical condition that makes it necessary for her to eat frequently. She obviously carries a few snacks at all times, but she tends to enjoy "real food" and also tends to favor healthy food. She's also lactose intolerant. No problem. lol

So....I'm starting to worry about food for this trip! Anyone want to suggest some places that I should be stalking for ADRs or offer tips on the best QS options? I definitely need to know where on the Boardwalk my best option to find a "fast meal" will be for my D. As she can go from "I'm fine" to "I need food NOW" pretty quickly. Or where we can find even just a dish of fresh fruit or some carrots, celery and hummus....that kind of thing..

Thanks!

Check out the grab and go section at the Boardwalk Bakery and in the gift shop on the Boardwalk (not in the hotel) for things like carrots.

The Beach Club Marketplace also has a grab and go section which may have a better selection of fruits and veggies, if you want to walk over there.

The Dolphin has a cafeteria style restaurant and a soda fountain type restaurant (as well as table service restaurants).

I like the menus on AllEars.net. You can scroll down and see all restaurants in each hotel, and it seems to be more user friendly than Disney’s website.

If you are in a BWVilla, you'll have a kitchenette at a minimum. If you have a one bedroom or larger, you'll have a full kitchen. Just stock your villa with some items that will tide your daughter over until you have an ADR or are dining somewhere. Otherwise, the BW Bakery will be your best (and about your only) option. There are no food courts like the moderates and values located at any of the Epcot resorts.

Be sure to check out Picabu at the Dolphin. It's part small grocery and part cafeteria/food court. Swan has a breakfast buffet if you are looking for a sit-down meal. We've never needed a reservation for our early December stays.

DVC members get a 20% discount at most Swan & Dolphin restaurants.

we loved the new QS / grab and go at the YC this summer - they had a case w/ things like hummus, cheese plates, salads - it was nice to have some easy and lighter options available.

We stayed at a combo of the villas and the Inn a couple weeks ago. Twice we ate pizza from the BW Pizza window. I realize the lactose intolerant part may be a problem but we found the pizza to be very very good! It gets pretty crowded during the later night hours, though. We also really enjoyed Trattoria al Forno. We had the sweetest waitress who happily packed our food to go when I suddenly felt ill. It wasn't anything serious but I aprreciated the effort on her part. The menu is quite reasonable by disney standards. Flying Fish seems to be very popular albeit pretty pricey! I hope you enjoy your stay. THe location can't be beat!

Oh, we frequented the bar at BW most mornings. The BW Bakery was very crowded in the 7-9am timeframe and the bar actually had coffee, cappacino, espresso, and pastries (but no breakfast sandwiches). It was very convenient for us. I'm pretty sure I saw refillable mugs there too.
