Hello all!

We are planning a surprise trip for my son’s 13th in August. We are definitely booking Goofy’s Kitchen for breakfast but aren’t sure what he would like to do for dinner. He may want to go to Cheesecake or Maggianos or just stay in the park...we have no idea. He won’t know we are going until the day before so I’m trying to figure out if we will have time to book a reservation (window is opening soon) and can still cancel it once he knows we are going and we can ask him about it.

Thanks!

Also, if you miss the 24-hour deadline, you can go to the site itself and ask to cancel directly. We had to do that once when my husband just wasn't feeling well enough and we left the park early, missing our reservation at WCT. We went there, explained the situation, and they cancelled us without penalty.

I had a similar situation as PP, but with a next day breakfast reservation at Carnation Cafe. DH was feeling sick and we didn't want to risk it, so I called the dining line to cancel. It was about 12 hours before our reservation and they did not charge us a penalty.

It depends on the situation if you cancel at the last minute if they will charge a penalty or not and it is at the cast member's discretion to waive it, otherwise at least 24 hours in advance.

Rule is 24 hours...in practice it is by end of day day before...in reality they just wanna prevent you being a no show or locking up a bunch of reservations just to keep your options open so they are pretty lenient generally if you actually cale to cancel or make changes last minute.
