Dining available for 5 but want 3.

I am trying to get a dining reservation for 3 people but they only have one open for 5 people. Has anyone every booked for more people than you need?

I've booked reservations for more than we need before and it hasn't been an issue. When you check in they ask how many in your party, and they can't turn you away at that point.

That seems to be the only way to get some reservations. I Expect that I will have to do that when my dining window opens.

Look at it this way, Disney is playing games with you, so you can play games with Disney Book 'em as you need.

Just don’t do that for CRT—that’s the one restaurant that charges you in advance at the time of booking.

We have to do it all the time. We are a party of 3 and at many places (Oga's, Beaches n Cream, Sci Fi, etc.), I find it easier to book a party of 4.

Also, bouncing back and forth between party size and times often gives different results. Sometimes I find nothing for 3, nothing for 4, then switch back to 3 and find something. The system is so erratic.

Booking too many is okay. Booking too few is not.
