The Hubby and I are seriously toying with the idea of booking a vacation to WDW during the free dining promotion (the 3rd week in Aug).

Oh great minds of the Dis :worship: , I ask you, what do you think are our chances of obtaining ADR for any of the following places during free dining if we were to book our vacation next week and promptly book ADR's?

Le Cellier
Jiko
California Grill
Sci-Fi Dine In
Tutto Italia
Wolfgang Puck
Raglan Road
Boma
Citricos
Rose and Crown

Of course I am not looking to make ADR's for all of these places, but I would like to get a feel of what my chances would be to obtain ADR's for any of these places for dinner.

Thanks in advance for any help that may be bestowed upon my poor little vacation planning soul. :thumbsup2

Hi,

I'm afraid no one here can tell you with any certainty...even if I just made a reservation for one of those places five minutes ago, it might be booked when you call.

I suggest you call Disney Dining right now and book the ADRs you want. You can always cancel them later. You do NOT have to have a vacation booked to make ADRS!

Good luck, and I hope you get them all...

Thanks for your input. I do not know why I thought that you had to have a vacation booked with Disney for you to book ADR's. Duh! Such a rookie mistake. I am ashamed of myself! :confused3 :rotfl2:

I guess I am just trying to feel out what other people have been experiencing for booking ADR's during the free dining promotion. :thumbsup2

From the posts I've been reading, as long as you are flexible as to what days/times you want, you should get a good number of your choices. I do have one suggestion though - if you call and get a CM that is a little less than helpful (like just doing her job and nothing beyond that) I would kindly oblige and hang up and call back. There are so many WONDERFULLY AMAZING CMs that will go out of their way to help you get the best choices possible - even if it means extra legwork (or fingerwork I guess it would be:) ) on their part. Good luck! pixiedust: Let us know what you get! popcorn::

Thanks for the boost in ADR confidence. (Is there such a thing??? ) I am always a big proponent, when dealing with any sort of customer service over the phone, of politely hanging up and trying for a new representative when things are not going as well as I had hoped for.

We're going from 9/8/08 to 9/13/08. I just dropped two days this morning. Had to reschedule all of our dining reservations. I was able to do it with no problem. I had my choice of times. Keep in mind that we are two adults, so we eat later than families with small children might.

We're now eating at: Teppan Edo, Wolfgang Puck's, Le Chefs de France, Raglan Road, Yak & Yeti, and breakfast at Kona Cafe.

The only restaurant that we wanted that wasn't available was LeCellier. I must say I am encouraged and hoping this means it won't be too busy when we go! (I know--I'm being selfish!) Then again, maybe our choices are just not popular restaurants?

It is just the Hubby and me so we can be pretty flexible with our times. I am very encouraged with going ahead and planning this vacation now. Twenty-four hours ago I was pretty disheartened with ADR prospects and was actually thinking that WDW was going to be bust and an overall bad idea, but now I feeling a lot better. Thanks guy!! :thumbsup2

I booked the free dining promo last year very late. I booked the begining of June for our stay the very first week of the promo. Over about a month I managed to get all the ADR's I wanted and got times that were fairly close to what I would have chosen.

We had:
Chef Mickey's
Boma
Spirit of Aloha
Cape May Cafe
O'hana
Captn Jacks
1900 Park Fare

I got about half of them in the first 2 phone calls and the rest took many calls but in the end I got exactly what I wanted, except for 1.
