I love mama melrose.. had 5:30 dinner res but last minute change of plans, switched days... now cant get MM for dinner sooner than 7:50 other choice is 12 noon for lunch. Im thinking, forget it.. so its like.. I dont have park hopper pass... already eating at sci fi another day.. maybe Ill jet out of HS early evening and head over to DTD.. so many places to eat outside the parks.. but yet I cant make up my mind! Ive eaten at so many already wanna try something new. I LOVE MM always eat there day of the stuidos.. dont know what to do:confused3

What about something at the BW or BC? You can take the boat over and it will be faster than DTD.

I booked the 7:50 MM at HS... I dont mind eating late.. just dont want to feel rushed since park closes an hour later.

The Boardwalk is a short walk or boat ride from HS with some great eateries and you can easily go back to HS.

we are eating at cape may cafe and capts grill that week. although Ive never been to the BW.. I think I looked and they didnt have a lot of choices?

Skip it! We just ate there tonight and the food was not great. Just blah. And we eat there every year too. Not sure if it was just today or what happened. 5 out of 5 of us were not happy and we are not that hard to please.

If you aren't happy with the available times, it might be worth trying something on the Boardwalk. But you shouldn't be rushed eating an hour before closing - the restaurants at Studios have available ADRs right up to closing time, so there will still be people checking in for their dinner even when you're finishing up.

thanks for the advice!:) You would think, so many options at the resorts, downtown disney, the boardwalk.. and I cant make up my mind. I like Raglan Road... always an option.

Ive been to MM a few times.. wasnt going back for the pasta (this time) was gonna try the steak, a few people told me the steak is really good there. Oh well... :confused3

Short boat ride to BW or even Swan and Dolphin would give you a lot more options. Kouzzina is very good but a bit pricy and may also be hard to get in. The Brew-Pub on the BW is also good. Beaches and Cream at the beach club can be fun for a quick burger and a milkshake. And S/D have a bunch of their own restaurants but I'm not overly familiar with any of them.

Personally, I don't have any must-do restaurants in DHS, so I usually do a counter or leave to the BW area. (I also usually stay at the BW, so that may explain my choice.)

Boardwalk is an option.. cause I wanna see it! this is a good chance to do so... I like 50's, didnt check their availability.. eating at sci fi another day and to me theyre equal - similar...

decisions decisions.

why am i doing this a few weeks before vacation!? lol

You could also try walking up for seating earlier at MM. Stranger things have happened. Personally I love 50s and Brown Derby. Good luck!

You could take the noon ADR, Mama's has the same menu for lunch and dinner, so it wouldn't really make a difference. Or I really like Kouzzina at the Boardwalk.

If you want a signature experience that night, Flying Fish at the Boardwalk is one of the best restaurants on property.

You could also try any of the fine restaurants at the Swan or Dolphin. Both Shula's and bluezoo are fantastic, and Il Mulino is supposed to serve the best Italian you're going to find in any of the parks or their surrounding resorts. I'm sure it's many levels better than Mama Melrose, at least. We've eaten dinner at Mama Melrose once, and once was enough. I made a pan sauce last night that was better than anything they serve at Mama Melrose by a wide margin. This should not be possible, given the premium you pay to eat there.

Ive been trying to find Mama Melrose lunch just for two and there is NOTHING available all day!!! Is that normal??

Beach Club and BW have great Rest. If you are paying OOP try Beaches and Cream at BC.

BW has Flying Fish, Kouzzina. ESPN all are very good especially Flying Fish Cafe. LOVE IT

Boardwalk or Swan/Dolphin!!!! I read that you were going for steak this time. :thumbsup2 Do yourself a favor and go to Shulas Steakhouse. They don't take DDP but you won't be disappointed. If you need to burn a TS credit, the Big River Grill & Brewing Co. was supprisingly good to us. We all had steaks and enjoyed them. I enjoyed Flying Fish! New York Strip was one of the best I've had. DW had Snapper and did not like it. Have not tried Cape May yet. Reviews are generally great. Living on the S.C. coast spoils us of fresh seafood! I'm a little critical of seafood and don't go inland to eat what they call fresh:sad2:. We take it out of the water and into the kitchen. Good luck in your quest!:woohoo:
