Is it ok to drive and park at Contemporary to eat at Chef Mickeys, and then monorail over to MK or is there a time limit of how long you can park there. Also, can you see the MK fireworks from the lake at Contemporary? Thanks

CR will probably give you a 3-hour parking pass for the self-parking lot, after which your car may be towed. Disney does not allow the CR self-park lot to be used for MK parking; if they did, there'd be nowhere for those who are staying at CR to park.

If you want to stay longer than 3 hours, you can have your car valet parked at CR.

Personally, I'd park in the MK lot, take the monorail to CR for dinner, then walk or take the monorail back to MK for Wishes after dinner.

Wishes can be seen from the viewing platform on the 4th floor of CR, on the opposite end of the concourse from Chef Mickey's. The CR beach faces Bay Lake, not MK.

Just got back from the World, had an extended vacation due to a hurricane evacuation.

Of the deluxe resorts, we visited and ate at the Contemporary, the Wilderness Lodge, the Polynesian, the Grand Floridian, and the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Only at the Animal Kingdom Lodge were we given a 3 hour parking paper to put in our car window. And only at AKL were we asked what our business was there (we were staying at POP).

When we ate at Chef Mickey's for dinner (a big disappointment, btw) we parked at MK, then walked over to the resort, and then mono-railed back to MK. I think walking was quicker.
