I would doubt it. If you have little ones that want to see the princesses i think you will need more time; then again I am not sure if the princesses would be there at that hour. I usually give myself two hours prior to where i want to be when dining.

Even if you're out by 9:30pm on the dot, wouldn't that be too late to find a good spot for Illuminations? The 8:05pm ressie means they could call your name a few minutes later to enter the line for the princess photo, so it doesn't mean you'll be seated at 8:05pm.
Looks like the OP is going in September when IllumiNations is at 9 PM.
To the OP: An 8:05 res is too late to see the fireworks. I agree with the PP who suggested a res at least 2 hours in advance and possibly even a half hour more because you'll have to allow for the possibility of getting seated late and for time afterwards to find a viewing spot you like. It's no fun trying to enjoy the meal and the visits by the princesses (who will be there until the restaurant closes) if you're anxiously checking your watch throughout your dinner.
We've always had to wait a bit to be seated at Akershus. Once seated, the meal has usually taken us at least an hour and 15 min. So, if Illuminations is at 9 it's definitely too late to dine and catch the fireworks. Since it is a CC guar spot- you may have last minute luck improving your ADR time.
