After the show ,we always go have dinner at Bongo's :thumbsup2

We walked across to House of Blues afterward.

Last trip(6/06 my family (wife and three daughters 23,18,11) had the 9:00 show, so we went to HOB before the show. We all thought the food was poor to fair at best and way overpriced. We chose it because of a 20% DVC discount. Even with that we were disapointed.

The trip before that (5/05) we had early show tics, so it was Wolfgang Puck's after, loved it (sushi) and have been going back everytrip since

We're going afterwards to Raglan Road. Going solo might be fun there considering they'll have a band after 9:00 pm. They also have an Irish dancer for entertainment.

I guess it depends on which show you are going to see and what time it gets out. If it is an early show, and gets out fairly early, I would go afterwards. If it gets out late, I would go before, maybe get some ice cream from Ghiaradelli afterwards.

Here's a list of all of the restaurants in downtown disney to help you:

http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining/disneydining.htm#dd

Bongos Cuban Cafe
Cap'n Jack's Restaurant
Cheesecake Factory Express - I was not aware of this one!!! I have to check it out :thumbsup2
Coco Moka Cafe
Cooke's of Dublin
Dessert Cart/Downtown Disney Westside
Earl of Sandwich
Fultons Crab House
Ghiaradelli Soda Fountain
House of Blues
Margarita Bar
McDonalds / Downtown Disney
Missing Link Sausage Co.
Planet Hollywood
Portobello Yacht Club
Ragland Road
Rainforest Cafe
Wetzel's Pretzels & Haagen Daz Ice Cream
Wolfgang Puck Express
Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe
Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe-Sushi Bar
Wolfgang Puck Grand Cafe-Upstairs

Good Luck!

Thanks for the replies! I will be going to the 6pm show; it will be December so I am hoping for a holiday feeling in DTD.

Right now I am split between Bongo's and W Pucks before the show; how is Bongo's food?? The ice cream afterwards sounds good! :thumbsup2

We went to the early show & had dinner at Fulton's afterward. Worked out great - we loved them both!

Can you go to the restaurants in Pleasure Island if you don't want to pay admission to PI?

Yes, you can walk around Pleasure Island and visit the restaurants. You only pay when you want to go into a nightclub.

We did the early show of Cirque and ate at Wolfgang Puck Cafe around 8:00

if you mean the restaurants "around" Pleasure Island, like Planet Hollywood, and Bongos, then NO, you don't have to pay for that.

But, the last time I was there, to get "inside" of Pleasure Island, there is one flat rate.

Whether you just walk around and don't go to one club, you still have to pay that one rate to go "inside" Pleasure Island. Because once you are in there, you can just walk around, or go to any club, jump from club to club, etc, without paying extra for each one.

Is there a particular place that you were thinking of that you were curious to know about??

I think this has changed. You can now explore PI all you want without paying a cover. You do, however, have to pay if you wish to enter one of the clubs, etc. If I recall correctly, the Adventurers Club and/or the Comedy Warehouse was a little more expensive than the 'dance clubs', so to speak. I am sure that someone will verify this and correct me if I am wrong. pirate:
