How far in advance can you make ADR's? And which places need ADR's--I'm guessing character dining & Blue Bayou and any Disney hotel (GCH, DLH, PPH)type meals. Am I missing any? Are ADR's as critical at DLR as they are at WDW? Thanks :thumbsup2

PS's (ADR's) are only made 60 days out at DLR. They are recommended for all the sit down restaurants in the parks, resorts and DTD. Depending on what time of year you're going, you can often get away without them all together, although I'd not suggest it.

Dining is a much more laid back deal at DL than WDW. The majority of restaurants at DLR are CS, so no need for the 180 days out ADRs.

OP! I was going to ask that very same question!:goodvibes

Do the casual dining restaurants like Plaza Inn and French Market need PS's??

I've never gone to these in ALL my years of going to DLR...I know I need to make PS for Carnation Cafe, but what about these ones??

Plaza Inn only needs a PS for breakfast when it is the Minnie's character meal or in the afternoon between lunch and dinner when it is the birthday party. We have never done either. The rest of the time Plaza Inn is just regular buffeteria counter service. We have done it a few times and found it hit and miss.

French Market I have always liked. No PS needed. The menu has changed in recent years, but there are still some good selections. I will note that sometimes we have had difficulty securing seating at French Market if the park is really busy and we make the mistake of getting hungry at the usual time for everyone to eat dinner. Normally, we eat a little ahead of the crowds at Disneyland and that helps. Haven't been to French Market lately so I don't know if they're still having the evening musical entertainment on the little stage in the seating area, but that was always nice.

OP, other places that it helps to have PS for are Carnation Cafe, as chrissiecutie mentioned, Cafe Orleans in Disneyland and Wine Country Trattoria in DCA (closed until June 11 I heard). If you're considering eating in DTD, you may want to get PS for those restaurants as well. You can do that through Disney dining; I think the main exceptions are Rainforest Cafe always and ESPNZone after 4PM or 5PM; you call those restaurants directly in those cases. The need for PS varies based on season, crowds, special events, and so on. I always figure it's nice to have the PS and save the aggravation or disappointment of wanting to eat somewhere that is going to have a longer wait than our family feels it can tolerate.

Oh Thank you for the information...i'm at 109 days out :cool1: and was wondering when we could book!

We're booking 2 character meals and possibly at rainforest cafe (not sure on that one yet)

60 days is still so far out for us lol....
