OK, getting a little nervous here. We have our return flight booked but still waiting for a DING! for the flight down on Aug. 23rd. To tell the truth, I haven't really seen any for BUF/MCO since the schedule opened up for late August. Sigh.

There haven't been a lot of DINGS but the price has been very low, perhaps that is the reason. Most flights for that time have been $62.00.....you aren't going to do much better than that. (perhaps $59.00)

You need to check the prices daily, even twice a day, as they change all the time. In my opinion, I would be surprised now if you were to find anything for that date at a low price on Southwest....but you never know. I did a quick check for you and that date is pretty high now with most airlines out of Buffalo, Southwest has one flight at $134.00 (non-stop) and Air Tran has it's flights at $139.00 (not non-stop)

Hope it all works out for you.

We are checking in on the 23rd. We need to take the morning non-stop as we have ADR's for the afternoon. The price has been steadily climbing for the past few weeks. I probably should have booked then but I've been waiting for a DING!. Oh well, live and learn.

There hasn't been anything for that day all spring. (I know because I've been watching for that very same day-and for the 28th as the return day.) If anything the price went up and up. In knew that I couldn't play the waiting game and got a good deal-$109 each way-through JetBlue late spring. In fact, it was the ONLY weekend that the price was down for both legs of the trip! No, it is not $59 or $62 or even $99, but SW hasn't done those at all for my dates. I'm thrilled with my JB, and I haven't had to
  1. spend time waiting for the DING
  2. get more worried about the prices as the trip comes closer or
If a DING comes up, so be it.

My peace of mind is worth more than any savings. ::yes::

Good luck wdwmike59. My fingers are crossed that you can pick up a decent flight!

Aww...that is too bad that you weren't able to hook in on the less expensive flights. I have clients booked those days and was able to secure 62.00 flights for them. You know though...........109.00 each way is not unreasonable and you will love flying Jet Blue. :goodvibes

I knew I wasn't crazy thinking there hadn't been any Dings for that date. I just went ahead and booked for the day before for $134 for the afternoon nonstop. Darn, we have to spend another day at Disney. This also means no Buffalo hotel night, no getting up at 4:30AM to get ready to go to the airport. Not a bad trade off. Still going to watch the Dings just in case though.

Are you on the flight that leaves at 3:10, stops in Baltimore and arrives at MCO at 7:30??? That's the one we had to book - looked forever for the 23rd, got a little antsy and when AP rates came out I happened to check for Saturday the 22nd (about 3 weeks ago!) and was lucky to get $59 one-way for the afternoon connecting flight. We're not happy that we get to WDW so late (around 9pm), but I'll continue to watch for lower prices for the morning flight - regardless, we get an extra half-day in Disney!!

Nope, we are on the 1:50PM nonstop. We got that for $134 and the next day it was $164. Whew. I know you can get cheaper if you are willing to change planes but that's just something we don't want to do. We have a couple of nervous fliers so multiple takeoffs and landings are not a good thing. That gets in at 4:30PM so we will have a leisurely night at WL. Get something to eat and hang by the pool, hit the sack early and be ready to go full bore on the 23rd. We did manage to get $59 flights for the return on the 1st for the late nonstop so we can have almost a full day before heading to the airport. Using a town car service so we don't have to go on the ME timetable.

Too bad, thought we'd have other DIS'ers to talk to!!! Have a great trip - I'm still watching for flights to come down as I will gladly switch to an earlier flight, especially a non-stop one. DH gets so antsy about making the connecting flight, and making our arrival time any later than it already is would not be a good start to our trip.

I have always gotten the best prices on the first day of release for Buf to MCO.
This time we got both our departing flights for $59 each way. Better than any sale I have seen yet!

I agree - we were very lucky to get $59 going down, but were unable to get even anywhere under $134 coming back on the Friday before Labour Day with Southwest - after hunting religiously several times a day, I managed to get all 8 of us on an Airtran flight, non-stop in the evening on Sept. 4 for $62 each, and twenty minutes later it was back up to $200 - it's now at $259!! So I'm not going to complain at all - we did book an extra day early at OKW with my AP rate - paid $460 for 8 of us in a 2 bedroom as that is what we're staying in on points for two weeks and none of us wanted to move once we get there - could have stayed at All Stars for $69 a night, but for the extra $160 each family had to pay, it's worth it to us. :cloud9:
