DINGS for Late April/DING Question

Anyone have any ideas when to start looking for these to come out??? I got my April flights last year (DING) around mid-February.....

Also, I've been noticing that most of the recent DING fares have been flight-restrictive, meaning the fare is only good for particular flights......all my DING fares in the past were open to all flights on the given days??

Last year I have written down that SW started offering Dings at the end of January that were went through to June 9. I haven't even seen Dings past middle February yet for Manchester, NH to MCO, but then I have missed some Dings. Anyone see any Dings for March yet?

Our Ding fares for next week came out over the Thanksgiving weekend ($44/ow), and they are lower than any of the later Dings for our flights. For last January, the best Dings for MCO came out late December ($24/ow ), so I'm guessing that this year, the "Ding window" is about 2 months. (But I don't think we'll ever see those marvelous Dings in the $20s and 30s again .)

Also, just curious if anyone else waits to book their trip until the DING fares come out? I have done this for every trip, and knock on wood, I hope to do it for this one.

I'm looking for DINGS for March from Hartford & haven't seen anything lately (not down to FL, anyway). Last year it seems it was every other day they were offering $49 flights. Uh-oh. What'd'ya thinks gonna happen this year?

I think the flight specific plan was part of the original goal. It's not the DINGs role to use it the way folks on here want to. It was suppose to sell unsold seats. I think flight specific will be more popular with SW going forward.

I agree. Recently, it seems the DINGs have been closer to the date of travel for specific flights with more availability.

It seems SW is holding out, taking stock on which flights are not being booked up, and offering those only.

Good if you fly at a weird time...I am hopeful for a DING for my Thursday mid-afternoon flight from MCO on 1/18, since it is still showing the lowest priced seats available. But my BUF-MCO on 1/13? No way. All flights that day only have the highest priced fare left. Same with our morning flight down on 2/5. Not getting hopeful for a DING there, either.

I agree, if you can fly on a Tuesday or Wednesday, or first or last flight of the day, then you have a much better chance of getting a Ding fare.
