I just booked for our Nov trip from Detroit to MCO $39 each way!!! I actually had booked at the $69 rate from Buffalo but I changed it for that price! Less than $600 for 6 of us! Now I have about $350 in SW funds so I may have to plan some more trips.....

We saw it too and have booked Tuesday November 6 to Tuesday November 13.

Can't wait to go back and see Mickey! :goodvibes

Wow small world! We are leaving from Ingersoll. Have you flown out of Detroit before? We have always done Buffalo in the past.

Hi neighbour! We have flown out of Detroit a few times but not usually to Florida. I am more familiar with Buffalo.

Detroit is a larger airport and has 2 or 3 Starbucks in the terminal! It costs a little more to cross at Detroit and the airport is further away from the border than Buffalo

Now that you mention the Starbucks I remember that my DH and I had a connection once in Detroit. (back in the day when we didn't know about SW and flew out of Toronto...gasp!)
I'm willing to pay a few bucks more the cross the border for a $39 flight though! Where do you usually park? I was all set for Buffalo and now I've gotta start over.
The other good thing with the change in flights is that we don't have that awful 6:50 am flight anymore on return. I'm much happier with the 10:50 am return!
Where are you staying? We are doing a 4 day Wonder for the first time and then are off to POP.

We have yet to do a cruise but it's on my "list". As a matter of fact, I was talking about it to DH tonight when we went out for coffee, so maybe next year.

I just checked with DH about parking. He said from the I94 west, exit at Merriman Rd stay to the right and just past the first traffic light is the entrance to "Airlines Parking". The parking is airlines specific and there is a guy who asks you which airlines and directs you to that parking area. As soon as you park a shuttle is usually right there to pick you up.

We will be flying out from Detroit at 10:25am (will book a hotel at Detroit for the night before) and returning on the 10:55am flight, both non-stop. I agree, no way would I want to take a flight that early, if I had a choice. Normally we'd take the late afternoon flight home but DH didn't want to be getting home at midnight and then have to work the next day. We are staying at POP too!

Can I come with you Julie! Don't think we'll be flying from Detroit because it would be over 4 hours for us to drive but boy $39 sure looks good.

Now you've got me thinking about flying out of Detroit for March break, they still have some cheap flights from there out on the 7th.

Regarding the parking, try this link for hotels offering parking too.

www.parksleepfly.com
There are 10 different hotels listed that offer on site parking and shuttles.
We have booked through them for Buffalo park n' fly hotels with good results.:)

For anybody that missed yesterday's Ding.....it's back again today! $39 DTW to MCO through Nov. 14.

I think we will just park (no hotel stay since we don't leave until the afternoon. Offsite parking is no cheaper than parking on the Blue deck from what I've seen. You can get the Blue Deck for $9 per day including taxes....offsite with a $5 fee that they add was about $81 for 9 days.

Thanks for that info about the Blue Deck parking, Hoogy. I'm not sure if Dh has parked there before. Lately he's been staying at the Ramada for business trips and parked at Airlines Parking. But I stayed at that hotel once and didn't like it.

I much preferred the Hampton Inn but it's more expensive, of course. Their parking package is at Airlines Parking.

I have been checking the ParkSleepFly hotels (thanks for the link petbren), not sure about them yet, but TripAdvisor had very bad reviews for the Howard Johnson, which advertises secure parking.

Since we have a mid-morning flight I want to go down the night before. Hopefully I can persuade Dh to stay at the Hampton Inn again! ;)
