We normally drive to WDW from MD and we're looking for recommendations of the best spots to stop for lunch and dinner along i95.

What are your favorite spots/hidden gems?

:thanks:

Smithfields Chicken and Barbeque, they are in NC only and several along 95

Uncle Bubba's and the Lady and Sons in Savannah. You have to line up at 830 to get a priority seating for lunch at 11 at the Lady and Sons.

If you google something like "diners drive in dives map" you'll get a Google map with all of the restaurants pinned.

We used to make the drive from MD several times a year. The kids are a bit older, and easier to fly with now though. An old stand by was always Cracker Barrel. Another, once you get closer, is a BBQ place called Shorty's. Cant think of any others off hand. Sorry!

Good idea for a thread! :thumbsup2

I hope it can stay on here even though it's not specifically for Disney restaurants, but on-the-way-to-Disney restaurants.

We also stop at Cracker Barrels along the way... can depend on clean bathrooms there, good especially for when you have children along (not that us adults don't appreciate clean bathrooms as well!)

Denny's has also been a stop now and then.

Wherever we stop on the way, it's all about the comfort food! :goodvibes

I would love to hear more about other people's thoughts on this too though...

Great thread. We will be driving down from Delaware this Wednesday. I have not been to Florida by car since i was about 12 and back then we stopped at Bob's Big Boy and Shoneys. I do drive down to Atlanta sometimes and we stop at Biscuitville. They will put anything on a biscuit and the grits are out of this world. Those are along 85, I hope to see them along 95 as well. You may also want to take a look at this site. It is kind of evewrything off of 95.

Cracker Barrel is always our favorite. Good food, reasonably priced, clean bathrooms. You can eat breakfast all day long, if you want. Nice shop attached to pick up snacks or browse a bit to break up your trip. And if there's a wait, there are rockers on the porch to relax in, and a giant checkers set for the kids (or grown ups)to play with.

I love Biscuitville! Sorry there are none along 95, all in the western part of VA and NC.

We were stranded at disney after 9/11 and had to drive home - we had no map EXCEPT a Cracker Barrel map- our milestones on the journey were all Cracker Barrels and there are a LOT of them!
