Has anyone done this at Sea World? Did you think that it was worth it? I will be taking my nephew (13 at the time) to WDW in August '10 and I want to take him to Sea World for a day.

Also, you far in advance can you book it?

Thanks everyone!

we have done it twice and loved it. The food buffet is really good. I would recommend the 6pm seating that way you can watch Believe from the back side before your show starts. I would rate this as some of the best food in the park. I'm not sure how far out you can book it but you can do it on the SW website

We really liked Dine With Shamu. Here is my report, along with some photos of the buffet (we did the last one so it was dark and my whale pics. didn't come out): http://bit.ly/RUNuj

I'm not sure how early you can book, but we did it a couple weeks beforehand and I'm glad we did because seats are assigned when you book and we got great ones...right next to the area where of the whales and trainers were located.

f86sabjf and inkkognito, thank you so much for the info! I am definitely going to plan this for my trip with my nephew. :goodvibes

I guess that I will start watching the Sea World website a few months before my trip so that I can book it early.

Do either of you remember how many rows of tables there are?

i believe two rows . Think 2 tables side by side that will seat 4 people with a walking space in between. Dont forget to save room for desserts they are yummy:goodvibes

My wife is a diehard Shamu/SeaWorld fan and I tag along for the rides and occassional show. I wasn't really looking forward to the meal since the items on the buffet didn't sound all that great. However, we all really enjoyed it and the food was outstanding. The complimentary 6x8 photo of us turned out to the best one of the trip. Go and have a great time.

So you see Believe while dining and then get a private show? Just trying to figure out if I need to plan to see Believe at a different time and then do Dine with Shamu.

You see Believe, from behind stage and also on a large scren tv. However, imho, the tv is not like watching the show from the regular seats. The video camera that supplies the big screen doesnt move or pan. Its just a large wide angle view of the pool. You miss a lot if the little things that go in to the show.

Also, since we just did the Dine about 2 weeks ago, it changed slightly to all 3 shows are scheduled at the same time as the Believe shows, then the trainers come to the back with a whale or whales, and go thru the Dine portion. the other change I noticed is that the trainers no longer come into the dining area, to sign autographs and answer questions.

Is this true with the lunch dining as well? We're scheduled to dine with Shamu at 1130am and I was wondering if this seating would be during a Believe show. I think I would still want to see the show from the seats, though. When are the usual show times?

Yes. All 3 Dines (or as many as they run on a particular day) are exactly the same as far as program for lack of a better term. You enter from the back of the Dine area, near the underwater viewing, sit down and eat while you watch the Beleive show on the big screen. Then the whale or whales come in to the tank, and they go thru the interaction portion. The only real difference I can see between shows is that it depends on which whale/whales and trainers are at Dine that day.Other than that they are identical. We had the 1130 lunch, and the 600 or the 630 was exactly the same when we walked by going to Wild Arctic.

The last time I was there with my family and niece, I asked why the change, and the woman doing check ins said it had something to do with the trainers scheduling. They apparently did not have time for certains things, though she did not know specifics. At any rate I am glad that they added Dines, as it was pretty hard for a while to get a Dine, even several weeks out.

Show times vary with the times the park closes. The earlier the close, the less number of Beleive shows and Dine.Even then thell float from day to day for one reason or another.
