Anyone done this and how did you rate it? Is it worth the $$$?Am thinking about booking as a surprise for DH, and want to get it booked up while he's at work!!

Thanks

yes we did it a few trips back, yeah i suppose it is worth it, its relatively quiet in terms of the volume of people, and you get to sit close to the water (if you get a table close to the edge of the pool - and potentially get a bit wet!)

they basically have one of the whales performing a few tricks - that sort of thing, and the usual standard american cuisine lol

we thought it was ok yeah...

We did this, and it definetly is worth the money, food is excellent and plenty of it, and same with desserts, and server kept the drinks coming ,he was excellent. The earlier you book the better chance of getting a table right at the pool, as tables are assigned when you book, when we went i was at the
2nd table, as we where the 2nd people to book, if you ask when you make reservations ,they will tell you how many have booked in front of you. I bought an AP as it worked out better as we had a few days planned for Seaworld, got free parking and 10% off our Dine with Shamu ressie, and same with buying food and items in stores , so could be worth thinking about.

Our experience was so/so. Obviously they can't guarantee that the whales will be in the mood on the day you go so with us it was just swimming back and forth a little. Got a better idea of their size by watching at the end of the main show.

The food was good but every time I went up there was something they had run out of and I had to wait for the tray to be replaced. The tables were tightly packed and we all have to shuffle between us and the table behind when we wanted to get in and out, we got to know them quite well! but I can imagine it might be different with some people...:rolleyes1

The trainer who came to our table was amazing though and really didn't seem bothered that our daughter asked the same questions they must answer 100 times a day. Definitely those with an interest in finding out more about their training etc. would get more from it. We had a lengthy discussion comparing training dogs (which we were doing at the time) and the psychology of training a whale!

I am sure there are better buffets out there, the whales may not play etc. but on the whole it was a nice experience but one I wouldn't say is a must do. We are looking forward to trying one of the tours which might give a similar experience albeit not with the whales?

Thanks for all your replies.

I might leave it and see if we can get a booking on the day (if we feel like it and there's space). I think DH might enjoy the interaction etc, but might not enjoy it quite so much at $42 each.
I'm sure for that money we could have a lovely meal somewhere else.

Thanks again
