Should I keep my Dec. 4-12 WL courtyard view reservation or should I switch resorts to Poly standard view? The construction at WL has me second guessing my decision. Difference in price would be about a $1000 if we switch to Poly.

I would switch to the Poly. I never knowingly stay where major construction is ongoing. Been there, done that - hated it!
Plus the Poly is just finished renos and wonderful! Great location, wonderful atmosphere, monorail access, views of Wishes and the Castle...arguably the nest resort in WDW! If the $1000 is doable in the budget, i would switch in a heartbeat!

I love the WL, but I wouldn't want to stay there during this huge construction project. Poly is a good choice but have you looked into a garden wing room at CR? That would be similar in price to a WL room.

Switch to any resort that won't be in the middle of major construction. If the extra 1000 is too much to swallow consider Port Orleans Riverside and save a bundle instead. Scrooge himself would be proud of you!:)

I wanted to really capture that holiday feeling and they say there is no better place to do that than WL but the construction is thwarting my plans. I didn't expect the construction to be this extensive. Thanks for the CR tip, I haven't really thought of it.

AKL has an amazing Christmas tree too, and you'd like come in cheaper than WL!!

If it is a great Christmas atmosphere that you are looking for, the GF and CR are good choices to replace the WL. The GF is my fav of the two for decorations, though.

Agree! Grand Floridian at Christmas is Splendid like no other resort!

Stay somewhere else, visit the WL for dinner. It's not as if the rooms are decorated for the holiday...only the public areas. You will still get that same Christmas vibe without dealing with the huge inconvenience that the construction brings.

I agree with the GF as a great alternative. The WL is our favorite during the holidays, but the GF is a close second.

It's official, I made the switch from WL (courtyard view) to Poly (standard view). I wrestled with the decision for awhile and finally decided to pull the trigger.
