This is going to be long sorry!

Virgin just text me to say I can pre book our seats for our outward journey.

I cant book sky cot seats in advance as they are given to you at the gate. I have been told that that having a sky cot the 2 adults may not be sat together if the bulk head seats (I think he called them) have) been assigned to others e.g disabled and other sky cots etc. Also we are classed as low priority for one as DD will be almost 2 and they are given to children 12 months and under first. The extra leg room would be great but I don't want to travel 8 hours with DD alone whilst DH sleeps the whole way!

I am thinking may be just pre book two seats together and have peace of mind we will be together at least.

What would you do?

i would say your 2 year old would be huge and uncomfy in a sky cot, we had one for my 14 mth and he was too big for it if that helps

DD is tiny still wears 6-9 months clothes some 3-6 months and she's 20months now. :/

I just don't know what to do can we pre book and then when arrive virgin could relocate us to bulk head if two are available.

I just really don't want to risk having to sit on my own with her for 8 hours x

I would book two seats together and forget the sky cot. DS will be 14 months when we travel (and I know he will be much too big for a sky cot as hes only 8 months old but already the height of a 12 month old) so I will be booking regular seats for DH and I so we can both take turns caring for DS. My DS sleeps better ON me anyway so I doubt we'd even use the sky cot to be honest!

Book the 2 seats together, then ask at check-in if the have any bulkhead seats available. If they have 2, then take 'em....simples

I have pre booked seats now I couldn't wait any longer! My obsessive planing self can't leave anything to chance. We have chosen some of the two seats at the back probably not some of the best seats but just don't want to worry about some one sitting next to us and DD trying to climb on them as well. If we get offered the seats on check in I will take them as it would be nice to have the extra room. I doubt she will sleep at all she doesn't sleep in her push chair and very rarely sleeps in the car so I don't expect her to sleep on an aeroplane full of so much adventure lol! I don't know how I will keep her up till bed time if she doesn't sleep at all on the flight though :(

Thanks I have now. I think I was just worried when I posted as, DH is away and didn't have any one to discuss with. I thought I would share my worries with all you other planners :D

Also I didn't know if i pre booked our seats if we lost all chance of getting a sky cot. X

Good to hear :) Hopefully she will sleep a little on the flight, for both her own sake and yours! I would imagine they will still give you the sky cot if you want it on check in if there is one available!
