Digital Scrappers - Post pages here!!!

Hi everyone - this is my first post as I am just getting into digital scrapbooking. I do not have any of the fancier software, just scrapbook factory deluxe, but I think I am doing pretty good with it. I am able to use a lot of the kits that have the .png files. They import very easily and look clear. We are not going to Disney until November, but I have been playing with sample layouts.

Anyway, my biggest concern with this software is the printing. I can do 12X12, and save at a high quality .jpeg file but, I am just concerned that when I print it, it won't be clear.

I know this isn't the software of choice, but has anyone actually printed with this?

PS - LOVE LOVE LOVE everyone's work, some of them are amazing!!!

First: Welcom Kristin! :goodvibes

Second: I'm back from my Knights and Lights tour. It was awsome! Someone actually bought our house when we were at Disneyland Paris. That Pixie Dust is some amazing stuff. They need it right away, and so I haven't been able to scrap. Finally I took a few minutes today to do what I think will be the cover pages to my photobook. I'm thinking I like it pretty well, but wanted to get opinions. Does it pop enough? I didn't want to make the cover too trendy, kwim?? Also, do y'all like the book from the Sprite (Thanks Britt) freebie to give the title, or should I have a more proper title. I can't decide. Any opinion would really be great. I can't seem to get my brain to settle down in my head. LOL

Here we go!

Thanks to Britt for the template and the journal from Sprite (massive hugs). The rest of the stuff was from the kit Desitnations from scrapgirls.com, Erica Hite. (love her stuff)

I'm sorry I've missed the challenges while I was gone. Some really great work! The Knights and Lights trip was awsome. It's so worth every penny. Man, I wish I had more time to scrap! :goodvibes

Hey, Lauren! I didn't know you were hanging out over here! I just posted my first LO on page 140! Woohoo! Fun trip! That's great about your house! Especially the way things are going here. Are you moving out of town?

Lauren -- I think that will make a beautiful cover for your book. I love it! I didn't realize the writing in the journal was your title until you mentioned it, but I think it looks great. Subtle, but great!

I need some opinions on a layout. This is for the Saturday challenge at Scrap Matters. I decided to use my sister as the subject. It was easy thinking of what I like since I did a whole album about my friends, which included my sister, and what I like about each of them, so I just took a few things from that. I keep thinking its missing something or needs something else, but can't think of what. The photo is my sister at Navy Pier with the Chicago skyline.

Thoughts? Suggestions? It just feels as if something is missing.

Beautiful! The only thing I might change would be to make the title stand out a bit more. It kind of blends with everything else. Other than that it is beautiful. The photos are wonderful. Can't wait to see more. Congrats on your house selling!

Melissa -- I love it! But, if you think something is missing, maybe you could tuck some flowers or swirls or something behind the papers along the left hand side of the page? I love the way you did the title with all the different fonts and alphas. It is just beautiful.

I think it's great that you're designing your own kits. How neat! I wouldn't even know where to begin! I always love the layouts of you and your mom.

Actually, once you start learning the tricks about shadowing and texture it's not really that hard. And it's lots of fun. I hooked into a group over on yahoo called ADSDesigners and the ladies over there have been wonderful about sharing their knowledge!

I really like the LO, but I see what you're saying about something missing. I think the left side just feels a little "off" (and can't really find the right word to say what I mean). Maybe Labdog's suggestion of swirls or flowers or something over there is an idea. Or maybe an "echo" of the things you've said you like about her (supportive, smart, sweet, etc) in an acrylic lettering. Just an idea, mind you, don't know how it would look actually implemented :cool2:

Yeah, this is where I spend way to much time hanging with my peeps! LOL Especially since we've lost both of our LSS, I've really started to try to perfect my digital more. Also with the house on the market, I didn't want to drag out all my stuff and then leave it all around. The fact that the house sold in two and a half weeks is a major blessing. I knew helping all those tourists find the Lady and Sons would pay off one day! LOL We're not going far though, just downtown. We found a real wreck of a house. It had been abandoned for two years, and the price was so great for downtown I couldn't resist. It's over on Tattnall St. Moving in a week and a half, AAAAAAHHHH! :faint:

Thanks Jessica and Melissa for the imput. I like it, too, but I think I may make a slightly flashier title and live with that one for a bit and then see which one wins out. I can't wait for this house stuff to be over, so I can focus on what's really important! ::yes::

Wow! That was fast! I know you must be excited about getting downtown, I remember the first time we bumped into each other on this board you mentioned something about downtown. Tattnall, huh? Closer to the Civic Center or Forsyth? My kiddos would LOVE to be within walking distance of the park! Me too!

Closer to Forsyth. It's Tattnall at Gaston pretty much. Now, I'll have no excuse not to get my walking in with Mom. Except the heat! ;)

Here is the page I did for the ScrapMatters Speed Scrap tonight. It uses mostly Britt's stuff (of course!). Click for credits!!

Yzer-I love that LO. I especially love the title. If you want to add anything, I'll third the suggestion of adding a swirl or a swirl brush to the side. But I think it looks great!

Here's my latest LO. I've been working on it pretty much all day. I wanted to try the speed scrap tonight, but I was still working on it. I have no idea why it takes me forever to scrap, paper or digital. Even using a template!

This is a 2 page LO for Spectromagic. I actually have been planning this in my head for a while to do as a paper LO. But once I started getting into digital, I thought it would be easier to do it as a digi LO. Especially since it's easier working with many pics, and I don't need to worry about getting glitter all over with my glitter chipboard letters! I saw Britt's Fantasmic LO where she recolored her Judy alpha, and that's exactly the look I was going for, so I did the same.

kswm30b -- That is GORGEOUS! I left you some love over on Sm, too, but I like that layout so much, I had to tell you here, too!! So, how in the world did you make the date stamp glittery? It looks awesome! Great parade pictures, too. Where where you when you watched the parade? You got some great shots. Thanks for sharing! I'll be scraplifting this one for sure!

KSWM: You rocked that LO! Super great job. I LOVE it! I have never gotten that many good pictures of Spectro. You deserve an award just for that feat alone.

Here is the layout I did last night at the Speed Scrap:

normal_OneWorld-SM.jpg

I must say that when the first instruction to have 4-5 pictures came, I was a bit afraid since I normally don't use that many photos for one layout. I never quite know how to work in all the papers, but I thought it looked really cool putting the rectangles behind the pictures sort of corresponding to the colors in the icons. This is far different from anything I had done before. Its definitely a bit funky, but I kind of like it. I will say that the embellishment requirement also had me panicking (sp?) a bit. I've learned that using my Disney photos is easier than trying to use some of my other photos since I have the kits to go with the Disney pics so its easier to find things.

Thank you. I might go try a swirl. :)
