My intro to my LO is
long, sorry.
So, yesterday I opened Photoshop to edit the pics I took of my recent paper LOs. I was bored, and thought that I wanted to try a template, to see how it worked...not to actually work on a page. So I opened one of Britt's templates. I didn't want to use Disney pics, since that's
all I've been working with for months, and wanted to try something new.
My mom never had her ears pierced (neither have I, actually!), and about a year ago, she decided she wanted to have them done for her birthday in November. Since we were going to Disney in October, she wanted all the stuff you have to do after getting them pierced to be done by the time we were away, so she went to get them pierced in August. Being a scrapbooker, I
knew I had to scrap this, so I took my itty bitty, fits in an altoid box, camera so I could sneak a few pics. She didn't know I did this, so she let me take a pic of her ear when we got home.

She also got this huge jewelry tower that holds pierced earrings. She added the 2 pairs of earrings she had (one was disney, of course!), and said that she would never be able to fill it up. Well, fast forward a few months, and the thing is almost full! The pic in my LO is only about 1/3 of the tower, plus all her Disney related earrings, are still on their cards and inside the tower on a shelf. I just thought that was funny, so I had to take a pic of the never-to-be-filled jewelry tower!
Anyway, as I was just playing around to see if I could work the template, I decided that I was actually liking this LO! I've been wanting to scrap this, obviously, but didn't have an ideas of what to do (my mind is one track on Disney layouts, I guess!) So I was excited to actually be able to complete this LO!
I originally was going to have the full pic of the jewelry tower as the vertical pic, but I thought that pic shouldn't be a much bigger focus pic than the actual pic of my mom! So I split it up by adding a white line & drop shadow, and added a sign pic. I hope that looks ok? To give the paper texture, I used one of the papers from Britt's latest kit add-on under the brown background from the template, and used one of the blending options in photoshop. I wanted to pull out the color from my mom's shirt, so I used a ribbon from Britt's Mouse in the House kit, and recolored it. Then I used the glittery star from Britt's Who Needs a Fairy Godmother kit as a buckle that the ribbon goes through (hope it looks like that!) The letters are from Shabby Princess' Harvest Spice kit.
Phew, hope you got through all that chatter! Or not, and just scrolled down to the LO wondering when I would shut up.

I'm excited because this is the first digital LO I've done without a challenge. So, yay! Can't wait to show my mom later tonight, hopefully she's not too mad that I took those pics!
BTW, I did eventually get back to the pics of my paper LOs and uploaded them. I feel like I'm cheating on my paper scrapping or something.

To feel better about that, you can see those I recently added, starting here:
