Wen, that's an incredible LO. It just looks fantastic and has just the right feel!

Jessica, I love your LO too. I'm always amazed how different LOs can turn out even when we're using the same stuff. I love the glitter. How hard was it to change some of it to blue? Did you just use a fill tool or what?

Thanks! I didn't have to change any colors. That particular glitter was part of the Lil Brudder kit, I just used it as is!

Oh cool! So when I get the Lil Brudder kit re-downloaded (sometimes I hate technology) it'll be right there. Good to know.

Here's my latest

All pieces from Shabby Princess kits (mostly Promise, but paperclip from Express Yourself)

Question:
I bought some kits this weekend and noticed something: there were a couple folders in the kits that I didn't understand. One was Bridge.Sort and the other was DS_Store What are these? Thanks!

I think the BridgeSort may be tagged for people who use Bridge to organize. That's just a guess though. The other is a link to that person's store. I just delete those. They take up space and I know where the store is, after all I went there to buy the kit!

Nice page, Hypermommy! Love your alpha.

It means that these kits were made with a Mac. If you are using a PC you do not need these files and can delete them. I know there is a more technical reason for it, but I don't remember where I read it. This is the main gist of it, though. :)

Fran, I love the flower petals being pictures... that's so cool!

I love the way you used the two frames in the last LO... that ws really cool!

Please forgive me if this has already been answered, but I am wanting to do some digital scrapbooking. Where do I get started? What programs do I use and can I send the pages to a photo lab and print them for an album? TIA

Welcome Awdrey! Your very first post is with the digi-scrappers. I am new too. The people on this thread are great! Very supportive and helpful. You will feel comfortable here.

To answer your question: there is a "sticky" for FAQ on digital scrapping. It goes through all the steps to get started. Of course, anyone on this thread will also help. Here is the link:

Welcome Awdrey.... I have not been doing this for too long, so I'm sure others will have some thoughts for you... There are a variety of programs to choose from including various Photoshop programs, etc. I use Story Book Creator Plus from Creative Memories.... Some people refer to it as "Digital Scrapbooking for Dummies," :) but I love it -- and so far it has met all of my needs. Some people print their pages at home (e.g. in 8X8 size). I have some of my pages printed in 12x12 size from an online photolab and insert them into my kids' traditional albums -- this is called "hybrid" scrapbooking I think -- where you use a combo of both traditional and digital in your albums. I have also made digital Storybooks (can be done through Shutterfly, Creative Memories, etc.) -- which are bound books with your pages... these are especially great for gifts and "theme albums," etc. There are lots of options, and digi scrapping is totally addictive. Once you get going and learn how to navigate your software, it's not difficult. Hope this helps.... Check out the thread that Fran started on FAQs for more helpful info.... http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1475382
