Love all the new layouts that have been posted. :)

This is one of the layouts I was able to work on last week. (finally got my post count high enough, so I can start posting some :) )

Those are all the Disney layouts I have from my Disneyland album right now. Now that I'm finally done with my grad classes to renew my teaching license hopefully I can start scrappin' some more. Talk about a major withdrawal the last few months. :sad1: I have a few more in photobooks that I did for the grandparents for xmas but don't have them uploaded to Photobucket yet. I also have some Sea World and other misc. ones but I don't know if you want to see those or not.

Great Layouts DznyScrapper!
Love them!!! Especially the fantastyland layout. I'll be scraplifting that one!
Did you scan a Chip & Dale pin in? I really need to get a scanner so I can do stuff like that!

Thanks for the comments. :) The Chip and Dale of the 2nd page of that layout is just a clipart I found on the internet. I searched for Disney Cuties Clipart in Google. I then added the Atomic Cupcake Gel Action to give it the glossy look.

Those are all FAB LOs dzny! I LOVE your daughter's Minnie Polka Dot outfit!! SO CUTE!!

So glad you joined us here!!

Thanks! :) I made my daughter's shirt. I read the Disney Boutiques thread before our trip and was inspired. :) The kids had matching or coordinated shirts for the entire week. I wasn't going to have what happened when we went to Disney World happen again. ;) The one morning everyone had put on a red shirt except for me (I had on purple ). I knew I couldn't change or my dh would never have let me live it down. So this time I made sure that everyone had coordinating clothes so we wouldn't clash again. ;)

Dznyscrapper - Wonderful layouts!! I love all the color combinations. I especially like the polka dots in the Chip & Dale one. Great job!

I wish my kids were still young so I could use their pictures with all these great ideas for layouts. I suppose I could always scan those pictures from 30 years ago when we first starting going to Disney World...LOL!! I think I probably have pictures of the Skyway and 20,000 Leagues.

Thanks, Britt, for the template! I'll see what I can come up with.

I am really enjoying all of these layouts. So many ideas, so little time!

Now for a technical question. I downloaded several actions the other day when someone listed a website. Now I don't know what to do with them! How do I add them to PSE? I searched the internet for instructions and couldn't find anything.

Next question for all of you digi experts: what do you take to a crop. I am going to GASC in Arlington in June and will only be digi scrapping. Do you take your external hard drive? I have a notebook computer that I travel with that's not my main computer. I don't want to take my main notebook with me that has all of my personal information, banking, etc. on it. I have an 8GB thumb drive that I can put some stuff on, but I have a large amount of digi scrapping stuff that I would like to take because you never know what you are going to need!

TIA!

Not sure how it works in elements if its the same, but in the version of Photoshop that I have I click on the ACTION window. You might have to go to View and open it. Then at the top on the right had side is an arrow pointing to the right. Click on that to open the dropdown menu. Go down until you see LOAD ACTION. Find the file you downloaded. Click on the name and click OK. It should load it. I know the ones I've downloaded from Atomic Cupcake have a Text file with them that explains how to use them and how to load them. There may be a text file with the instructions on how to load them into Elements.

I have gone through all of my drop downs from the top tool bar and can't find anything that says "Actions". I can't find any instructions with the files I downloaded. They are all .atn files. Thanks for trying though!

I just love the pages! They are awesome! Can't wait to finish scrapping my D-land pics from 2005. Of course, not a whole lot of shots (guess that's what I get for bringing a 6, 2 and 6month old!) This next time should be better!

Here is the lo i just did for Britt's challege at SM:

Wow, Caitsmama, you are FAST! That LO is gorgeous! Can anyone enlighten me on how to use the templates? I'm totally clueless. I downloaded the free version of PSE 6.0 today and I managed to open the file, but then I was lost. If there is a good tutorial somewhere, feel free to point me in that direction if it is too complicated to explain here. I understand the concept of layers, etc., but it just isn't clear to me what I should be doing with this template! Thanks!

BTW, I have heard that PSE 5.0 is better than 6.0. Anyone know why?

LOVE this Caits!! It's sa-weet! You really rocked this template!!

I don't use Elements so I can't help you out with your Element questions, but I can link you up to a great tutorial on using templates. Misty Cato is the maven of tutorials. This should help you out:

BriarRose - I haven't forgot about your question! I asked my girls at SM and they've begun to come up with answers. here's the thread: http://scrapmatters.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=693

Keep an eye on it for even more help.

Labdogs,
I have PSE 6, but I have never tried 5.0 so I can't compare. I really like using PSE 6; there are plenty of bells/whistles that I don't know yet. The link that Britt posted above is great for learning how to use templates. I'll be happy to help if you have any further questions. Digital Scrapbooking Place has several tutorials on using PSE with scrapping.

What do you guys think of creating a thread dedicated to freebies that maybe aren't Disney related? There are so many freebies out there and it might be nice to have links to them that people find all in one place instead of several threads. What say ye?

Jessica -- also you can check out this tutorial - it's geared for PSE4, but i am thinking if i remember, it's just about the same..
http://www.scrapbook-elements.com/tutorials/SBE_Using-Layered-Templates-in-PhotoshopElements4.pdf

Basically - here is my expl.
1.I open the psd. template first.
2.Then, i select the layer in the temp. that i want to use - meaning (add photo, paper whatever to)
Then, when that layer is selected in your layer menu, i go find what i am looking for - by going to "file", then "open" and searching on my computer for it.. then open that up (the paper, photo or whatever)

3.Then, when that element is shown on the PSE screen, do "Ctrl A" to get the lil marching ants around it (selects the item),

4.Then, copy it.

5.Then, go to your template screen, and hit "paste" (making sure that layer is still selected that you want this to go on) and it will paste your photo/paper/whatever -- on top of your template.
Then, THIS IS IMPORTANT: hit "Ctrl G" - that merges the layer in the template that is selected to the paper/photo/ whatever that you just pasted.. then you can resize it to fit your needs.

6.Keep repeating this for the whole layout - then go to "Layers" and merge or flatten the layers. and that's it!

Did that make ANY sense??
