great job on your first pages! thanks for sharing with us! I like you little flying planes!

Fran -

These layouts are awesome and I have to agree with everyone else. Way to many layouts these days are focused on the kits not the photo's which is the whole point anyway.

Great job, keep going!

Mary Poppins - I love this layout and the use of the swirls andthe layering is awesome

Wow everyone has been so busy. All the layouts are great and give me lots of ideas. I have done no scrapping lately and have spent very little time on the computer as i have been working my butt off at work but that is all about to change..

My news I talked about a few weeks ago is I quit my job giving notice 2 weeks ago that my last day would be June 1st. I have never not had a job and I have to get another one soon but it was time. I LOVE my job and the people I work for BUT I moved almost 2 years ago and have been commuting to this job, not a big deal except that the commute involves Washington DC traffic and it was 100 miles each way. It took 2 hours each way when I started which wasn't bad since before we moved it took and hour and half to go 22 miles each way (gotta love Northern VA) but now the traffic has gotten worse and there are many days when it was closer to three hours to get home. That and the price of gas where the reasons.

I came home from work and DH had written my letter of resignation and handed me a budget sheet that showed I could take off about 3-4 months and we would be okay so I am done next Friday. This is bitter sweet and I know I will cry my eyes out when I leave the last time but I have no regrets.

So this means I will have lots more time to do the things I love including scrapping so I can't wait. I will be super busy this week cleaning up loose ends but then I will be back and hopefully be able to post so layouts soon.

Until then keep posting and inspiring me.

Renysmom-
What a commute!! I am sure it will be hard to leave your job, but I am sure things will work out for you and your family. Hey at least now you can scrap away. Good luck in your new adventures!!:goodvibes

I don;t know how to post a scrapbook page on this thread. They are saved on my computer rather than on a web site. Can someone explain this to me?

I don't know about anyone else, but what I do is I say one copy in PSD form, then I copy one in JPEG form and then I save one copy for the web. All you need to do for the web is go to FILE- Save on web. My web pages are 72 dpi so it doesn't take up much space. Then I just go to Photobucket.com and upload the pics there. Once you have done that all you have to do is copy and paste the pics into your web page.

I hope this works.

Hi All - It is wonderful to see some new people posting!

Marci, great job on your first layouts. They are wonderful and I look forward to seeing more layouts from you!!!! I am so glad this thread is inspiring some people to go digital!!!

Kelly - Great to see you posting too. You have been missed around here. Congrats on the life change. Summer time is the best time to be off work so enjoy it!!!

CarneyMom - Welcome!!! What I do to upload photos is first Resize them on my computer. What program are you using? I use PSPX so what I do is click on the IMAGE then RESIZE. I resize the layout to 600X600 dpi at 72ppi. Then I save the layout as a jpeg file. I save them in a seprate folder I named 'upload' so I know those files are for the web. Next I signed up for a free account at www.photobucket.com and I uploaded my resized layouts there. Photobucket provides the codes under the pic (the IMG code is the one I use for the Disboards) and I just copy/paste the code into my post and the layout is posted. I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing your layouts.

Lisa just a note about saving your .jpgs, I was told to do it the way you are doing it, and did it that way for a long time. I have found out (from word of mouth originally) that you don't need to bother changing the resolution to 72, because when you export as .jpg it will reduce the res for you as well. Now I just resize to 600x600 then export > jpeg and it's under the size requirements for websites. This is for PSPX. It skips an annoying step since you always have to redo the 600 again after putting in the 72.

I "think" that for PSE users they can skip the 72 step too, if they use the save for web option. I cannot verify that, since I don't have the program. But I am sure about PSPX!

Kelly glad to have you back. Enjoy your summer!

Everyone else... great layouts you are posting!

Fran - Thanks so much for that tip!!! It is annoying how I have to retype the 600dpi in after I change the ppi to 72. It is good to know I don't have to do that....

Do any of you use templates to scrap? I ask because I have made a few to use later in my scrapping and I will share if anyone is interested in them.

Let me know.

Hi Kelly -

I just learned how to use templates!!!! :cool1: I would love them!!! You are so awesome for creating all these wonderful things to share!!!! I am so glad to have you back here and posting again!!!

Hi digiscrappers!
I've posted on the regular scrap board about the fact that I have a Mac and did get a couple of responses, but thought I'd ask here too. I am just getting started - in fact, I'm just at the reading/researching/how-to stage! But everyone seems to have PCs and alot of people use Photoshop Elements. If there are any Mac users here, what do you use? I love Iphotos and there is an option to make books but you can't customize as far as I can tell. I do have Photoshop CS and InDesign. Would either of these work? One better than the other? Thanks much for any help!

oh, another huge template fan here!!! I think that is partly why i LOVE digi scrappin.. you can't play with templates and move things around so easily when paper scrappin'! LOL

ETA: IF any of you catch this in time, there are a couple great template sales going on til Monday night..
www.scrapbookgraphics.com - Jen Caputo (huge fan here!!) has hers on sale 35% off - need code MEM35.
Also at sbgraphics - studio janet has hers 40%, no code needed.

Then, www.ginamillerdesigns.com has hers on sale (among her great embellishments too!) for 25% off!!

Hi - I have a PC too but I used to work for a printing company that had Mac's. Lots of scrappers LOVE Photoshop CS. There are tons of tutorials around on how to use the program. I would suggest learning that one. Alot of people use Photoshop Elements because it is a 'stripped down' version of Photoshop CS and more affordable. Photoshop is what the pro's use and it is a MUCH more expensive program.

How in the world am I just now finding this thread? I'm out of the loop on here. lol. :rotfl:
I have a question for you guys, (Sorry I haven't read the whole thread, just skimmed.) do most/any of you get these great layouts printed? Do you do it at home? Do you just keep them digital? This is my only delima with digital. I do a lot of Photoshop CS at work and it's a natural transition for me since I'm a scrapbooker. In fact, since I'm not trained as a Graphic Designer, I think in terms of scrapbooking a lot of the time! :lmao:
I'd love some imput!
