I am just starting to get into digital scrapbooking. I don't know yet if I want to print ALL digital in a digital book or wheather to do both, digital pages and some scrap odd's n ends pages. Looking at Shutterfly digital books... I upload one of my pages to... and it looks blurry. Has this happened to you all before printing? Do they print out clear? Which sites do you like? Thanks

I've gotten 2 shutterfly books and they are beautiful. If your images are blurry, then you are probably not uploading the right images. If you do a web sized image for showing to friends/forums/etc, then those images are way too small for shutterfly. You need to upload your full size images to have a good quality print. I made this mistake once, I was going to have them print out a brag book for me and I uploaded all my low resolution jpg's instead of my high res original files.

After making your pages (make them 12x12 for 12x12 books), save your original file and then use save as to save it as a .jpg as well. Don't lose your original work! You may find your wrote your kid's birthdays wrong or something! BTDT too. Those 12x12 jpgs are the ones you want to upload to shutterfly. If you want an 8x8 book, I'd still create at 12x12 and then shrink to 8x8 and then save the jpg. Keep your original file at 12x12 in case you want a large print down the line.

Yes, that is what is strange... these are saved at a max high resolution jpeg. 3600 x 3600 I just didn't know if the preveiw/zoom looks a little blurry normally to veiw or if it should look crystal clear to view as it would print.
So lost... certainly don't want to pay money to have a fuzzy book.:confused3

Make sure all the elements you put on your page are 300dpi as well as the whole page when you start. You should create 12x12 at 300dpi.

FWIW, I printed some calendars from Shutterfly at the end of last year and the preview looked blurry but the actual calendar pages looked great.

If you want to print individual pages, www.sbtoshare.com does a nice job.

Oh, thanks! Thats makes me feel better. :thumbsup2 I will have to check out this other site!! Thanks

Where does eveyone else print??

I get my pages printed at polkadotpotato.com
The quality of their prints is amazing. :) Plus they print a full bleed and don't cut anything off the edges. 12 x 12 prints are 3.50 ea and shipping is higher than sbtoshare but I like them so much better. :) They also package them up very well for shipping.
Scrapbook Pictures also prints 12 x 12 pics and they have a flat rate shipping. You can also get your pictures printed on metallic paper there, which looks really neat with water, nighttime and firework pictures.

I use Heritage Makers. Right now I'm just printing in books. Hopefully one day there will be a page print option.

When I'm creating the pages, since it is all right there in my HM account, I don't have to worry about sizing or resizing elements. It lets me know if the quality is stretched too far. Some times the preview is a little grainy but that is just because the preview has been downgraded (for lack of a better word) for preview sake. The final results are stunning.
