I have been scrapbooking for a couple of years but I have decided I want to give digital a try. I am wondering what software you think is good?

I know someone that always uses Creative Memories so she has Story book Creator but that software is $70 which I think is high

Also if I go with a different software can I still download digital papers and stuff from CM site and use them?

I feel kinda overwhelmed :sad1:

Any information or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!!!

I'm not sure if you can use CM digi papers in a non-CM program, I'm not sure how their downloads work.

But Adobe Photoshop Elements is the best. There's heaps and heaps and heaps of tutorials out there for PSE, heaps of youtube videos, it's a photo editor so it'll do all sorts of fantastic things to your photos before you scrapbook them if you want. There's lots of message boards where there are lots of PSE users. You'll never get stuck.

You can download a free trial for PSE from the Adobe site.

Here is a really super easy tutorial using PSE designhousedigital.com/content/classroom/creating-a-basic-layout/

If you search digital scrapbooking freebies you might get some nice papers and stuff. Generally you can't get disney kits because of copyright but there are a few kits I've seen with the colours of disney which would fit well with disney photos.

I use Creative Memories Story Book Creator. I bought it when it went on sale last summer. I'm not very computer savvy, but I found it easy to use. You can download other digital products and use them with the program---that's what I do. The CM products will only work with the CM software though.

You can download a free trial and try it out. You won't have the same options as the regular program, but you can get a feel for it.

Can you do 12x12 pages with CM Story Book? I have it but haven't used it, and love 12x12 pages

*****Nevermind, answered my own question******

I have the CM software and like it alot. I bought an epson printer that prints 12x12 pages (double sided) and found page protectors that allow me to put the pages into a CM album. You don't just have to make their storybooks.

I use the CM software too and do other's digital papers and embellies in addition to CMs. I do a lot of single pages and use the side-loading pages for my CM albums.
