digital sb question about templates

Hello all...I am finally trying to get back into digital scrapbooking. Haven't done any pages for almost 10 months and have been brushing up on some techniques.

I downloaded some photo templates...according to the instructions you put the template on your page and layer your photo on top. However...I am confused by this...I guess I am confused at why bother with the template? It is for the different edges? Wouldn't it be called a photo frame instead of a template then?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but it does sound like getting your pic to a certain shape. I love using LO templates myself, makes pages go so fast! But I've not heard of photo templates.
