What is the most economical way to take tons of pictures using your digital camera? I currently have a memory card that will hold 160 pics. Which is entirely not enough pics for Disney! What is the most economical way to be able to get a lot of pics out of your camera? So I have to go by a bunch of memory cards? We will be at Disney for 7 days and would hate to miss that perfect picture because I have to more pictures left!

You can reduce the MPs used by your camera to capture an image. For instance, my camera is a 5 MP camera by I can change the resolution of the image to as low as 1.8 MP. By lowering that setting, I can increase the number of pictures that I can store on my memory card. I would not recommend using below the 2.1 setting for photos, with 3.5 MP being optimal for 4" x 6" prints. Below 2.0 MP is best for use in email and on the web.

Should also have at least one additional memory card so that if the onein your camera should somehow become corrupted, you won't have to reformat it just to be able to take more pictures. Just set it aside and pop the other memory card into your camera and keep clicking. The right camera store may still able to salvage the images on the corrupted card.

I bought a 1Gb memory card at newegg.com for about $50.00. It stores about 800 pictures on my camera.

I think it's cheaper to buy memory cards than to use the options at disney. I have a 512 adn have never needed more than that. i have a spare 256 and 128 though in case. ecost.com usually has them really cheap after rebate, that's where I got mine. Or walmart has a 128 for around $15.

Our best buy had a 512mb memory card on sale $39.99 plus $10 rebate. That is $29.99 pretty good cost for the size. It was in Sunday paper should still be good. I have enought reward zone points to pay for ours, this should get my husband through half of our upcoming WDW Vacation :rolleyes1

some types are cheaper than others, but I just bought memory sticks, and the best online prices I found for lots of space(1gb or more) was buy.com, 2nd was newegg :sunny:

Check the Sunday newspapers and sites like techbargains. Memory card are very cheap after rebate.

ALWAYS save your pictures at the highest resolution. Croping the picture, discarding 2/3 of the picture, is the same as enlarging it. You may never wind up printing an 11 X 14 or even an 8 X 10 picture but you'll probably be cropping pictures.

An excexption would be a picture you're only going to be using online--ebay for example.

Thanks, I'll be checking out all the places stated above! I think I want a 1 GB. Although is 2 - 512 equivilent to 1 GB? It might be smarter to have seperate memory cards just incase something would happen.

I found a 1GB 60X for $30. What does the 60X mean?

The 60X is the access speed of the card. Unless you have a digital SLR camera, this generally isn't too important. However for $30 I would definately buy one.

I totally agree. The whole reason for getting a 5.0 MP camera, vs. a 3.1 or the 2.0 I already had, was because of the better resolution. However, if I found myself down to just a little bit of memory left and lots of potential shots to take, "dumbing down" the pixelation is something that can be done at no cost to the picture taker.

I think you'd need 4 512 mb cards to equal 1gb....(?) anyway, I found the memory sticks to be more expensive than the sd cards, or xd cards, which I'd been using before- I used to lower the res. at Disney too, to get lots of pics, but now I should have plenty of memory... :earseek:

It's a Centon, ever heard of that before? I found it at ecost.com it's $34 after rebate.

two 512 Mb cards are equivalent to 1 Gb.

AngieInOH, I've never heard of Centon. $34 (after rebate) is a great price. Thanks for the info.

I have 3 Kingston sd 512 memory cards for my Kodak easyshare. I buy them at buy.com for about $25-$30. :dancer:

ecost.com also had a FREE 256 card after mail in rebate. Now I just need to remember to get the rebate in the mail!!!!
