Canon VIXIA HF S11. I love it. It is so easy to use. A new model S21 is coming in April so the S11 will probably be at closeout prices soon.

We have the Sony Handycam(not sure of model #)-got it at BJ's for around $400. It's lightweight and I like the big "viewer" which swings out. We used it for both our Disney trips and were happy w/it.

That's what I have too. I like it OK. I am not fond of the software that came with it, which is OK cause I tend to use Adobe Premiere Elements to create my DVD's. The software with the camera is adequate for basic DVD creating, but I found the Adobe to be easier for mixing media.

Today Dell has it for $60 with 8G memory. Free S&H

I am also looking for a new camcorder. I want something that is easy to download to DVD's...without much fuss. I am not into editing or anything fancy....just want to preserve the memories of the kids while they are young.

I have a Canon VIXIA HF S11 too, really really good! It must be a good chioce for you.........

I'm pretty sure this is the one we have as well - it's an HD camera - can't remember the model #, but it's a Vixia that just came out last spring, I think. It's a fantastic camera.

Thanks. I have been looking for a low cost camcorder for my upcoming trip to China. I just ordered this one from Dell. Last time I ordered from Dell they oversold the item by hundreds and I never got it. We shall see.
