Digital Angel--taking it a step too far, or a Godsend?

Someone at work pointed this website out to me. She thinks it's a 'sign of the times' ie; it won't be long before the government is requiring by law all U.S. Citizens to wear one of these things, and it's a step towards the Universal ID system (mark of the beast, 666, etc.)

I'm not sure what to think.

I doubt if the government is going to require us to wear it any time soon, actually I thought it was kind of cool. Imagine having a senior citizen or you child being able to contact you if they are hurt, in trouble, etc. Mom forgot my homework - come quick - lol! What about getting mugged, attacked, etc and you could call 911 from your wrist.

This sort of thing makes me nervous. On the one hand it sounds like a good idea, but on the other, if it were made manditory & it very well could be, it sounds an awful lot like the end times stuff.

I think there are good points, and definitely some bad points.

I forwarded the Digital Angel site to my brother, who is/was/is/was/isn't at the time a born again Christian, who in turn forwarded this back to me; (warning, it's a long one)

"Whenever the subject of the Mark of the Beast arises these days, it seems that most people do not care to really discuss it. Rather than talk about the truth and reality of scripture, many Christians have been deceived into believing that the Mark of the Beast mentioned in the book of Revelation is just some sort of metaphor, or graphic symbolism. Unfortunately, because of this widespread disbelief in God's Word, these people are completely unaware of what is going on around them regarding the warning signs. You see, as time has treaded forward people have had problems understanding just how this mark would work and how multitudes of people could be fooled into receiving it. This is because Revelation tells us that the mark will be received on the right hand and/or the forehead. The imagery that people have, is that of people receiving a brand or tattoo of the number 666 on their hand or forehead. Thinking that someone would be dumb enough to get 666 branded or tattooed upon their forehead makes it difficult to understand how anyone would seriously receive the mark, therefore deceived men decided that the mark was a mere metaphor. They made this mistake by assuming that they knew the method of receiving the mark (tattoos or branding) and by assuming that the actual numbers 666 would be a plain and visible mark on the body. However, within the past few decades, the mark of the beast has become less of a mystery.


When the bar code was developed and began being used for buying and selling goods, many Christians began to compare this new bar code technology with Revelation 13:16-18 and in a flush of emotionalism, they began to assume that this was the mark of the beast. It seemed close enough, this bar code stuff was being put on goods that were being bought and sold! However, they eventually realized that this is inconsistent with scripture since the mark is to be on the body not the goods, yet many did not let go of the bar code and remained convinced (even to this day) that the bar code would be it.


But what about now? After all of man's previously failed theories about it, is there any evidence that the mark of the beast exists now, today? The answer is, yes. There isn't just evidence of it's existence, it is officially here. For the last few years, scientists have been working on methods of storing vast amounts of information, mainly medical, in the smallest, most convenient way for patients with special needs, conditions or illnesses to keep on their person in case of an accident or such. The program began with bracelets or ID tags that would alert EMT's and doctors of their special needs or conditions. However, with the huge advances in technology in just the last couple of years, scientists have perfected a new way of storing, on the patient, nearly limitless information by use of subdermal computer chips. These chips were first tested on pets, and they were used to contain information on the pet's owner (address, etc.) as well as medical info (vaccinations, etc.) that could be accessed with a simple topical scan, and to track the pet via satelite should it become lost (much like the car tracking anti-theft devices). The chips were a phenominal success, and with that it was time to find a willing human participant to try out this very beneficial medical technology. And it was a success.

Now this subdermal chip technology was suspicious, but not overly alarming since it was created and geared toward medical uses and people with specific needs. However, it is no coincidence that it was developed successfully and approved for human use in early 2001. Satan is no fool and he plans well. Since the terrorist attacks on 9/11 the government has new ideas about the use of these chips. There is now, at this very time, discussions and decisions being made in regard to these subdermal chips and security purposes. Due to the alarming inability of our government to find and stop terrorists, new measures are being considered in regard to the use of these chips for security needs. The chips are now being proposed for use of containing all of the recipients information, not just medical. This includes social security number, banking and investment information, credit information, instant identification at security portals, location tracking (which is being praised as a great way for parents to always know where their kids are), and any other personal and private information; even going so far as including an ATM/Debit card type of feature that would allow purchases to be made with a simple topical skin scan. The first voluntary recipients of this new chip, a family in Florida, received their subdermal chip implants only a couple of months ago and are reporting that it is "so convenient" and everyone who "wants real security and peace of mind" should really consider the benefits of the chip. The only problem for Christians and other mark of the beast theorists, is the fact that this new chip is implanted in the upper arm. However, that is already being revised. It is now under new discussion by Officials, on blending this chip technology with some other very effective security technology already in use. There are two additional security technologies used already in which the addition of the chip would make a security wall that is impossible to breach. They are the methods of palm scanning and retinal scanning. Government officials have tossed the idea of combining one or more of these security measures together to create an impervious security system, and stop terrorism on homeland soil for good.

And that is where it stands as of now. I'm certain that you can see the obvious conclusion. My friends, we have witnessed the introduction of the mark of the beast. What better way to introduce the mark than to first make it a voluntary choice to receive it out of a desire for convenience, medical necessity, or security. This allows people to become accustomed to the idea of receiving the chip implant without fearing that it is being forced. Remember what people were (and have been) saying after the 9/11 attacks? Most were more than willing to give up some personal freedom for more security. All of this is the conditioning phase."

I think it's a great product. That technology has existed for years and I don't see the government making any move toward requiring citizens to wear it. In fact, unlike the chips wich are placed under your skin, this one is easily removable.

I think that anybody who has tried to keep track of an impaired elderly person would really appreciate this item.
