How do people print their digital camera pictures??

Do you have your own picture printer, or do you use an online printing service, or do you take your memory card into store's photo lab. I just purchased my digital camera an Olympus Stylus 300. It comes with the Camedia software. Any advice about digicams would be appreciated. THANKS!!!

I usually get my prints online. I've tried almost all of the sites..Shutterfly, Snapfish, Ofoto, PhotoAccess, Clark, and Club Photo.

Club Photo has the lowest price on prints at 25 cents per 4x6 print. That I can find anyway! (Some might be cheaper if you buy in bulk)

I used to get prints online for 19 cents........but then they raised the prices :(

So, I'm going to shop around at different stores to see if they offer a better per print price.

Also, almost all of the photo sites give you a certain number of free prints for signing up. That's a good way to see which you like best as the quality differs.

Thought I'd let you know what we do. We set up an account online w/ WalMart. We email them, then pick them up at our local store 10 minutes away. Theres no shipping charge and it costs $.26 a print. There usually there in 2 days. Its pretty easy and convenient.

Well, you hit on the 3 major ways of doing this: 1)online, 2)store, or 3) your own printer.

I do my own prints using a Canon Photo Printer. Of course, the printer is only part of the equation. You need to use good paper too, photo glossy or something like that.

I like my own printer option because I can print the way I want to print. I can put a single image on an 8 1/2 by 11 or more photos depending on the effect I want.

My last WDW trip I took somewhere around 700 shots. Instead of individual prints I was able to print my own album. I used different backgrounds for each park, I was able to add text to my pictures as desired. The layout was a 'total' package. I had some single page shots of the exceptional pictures. I put 2, 3, 4, 6 pictures on a page if I wanted.

I have closely followed the photo printer evolution for the past 7 years. 7 years ago I would say stay away from the printers. Now, the photos are equal to what you can get from a 'pro.'

Of course, the image you begin with is important. I am not familiar with your camera.

One other thing, the printer is only a viable option is you plan on printing pictures quite regularily. I do.

I have printed pictures several ways. I use snapfish, shutterfly, and ofoto.com
I recentley purchased the HiTi 630PL dye sub photo printer for $111.00. This thing is awesome, the prints do not smear and have a protective coating on them that protects from fading, BUT it only prints 4x6 which is fine by me. The quality rivals the photo labs I have visited. If I need a larger print, I will use the websites listed above. The cost of buying the paper and print cartridge comes out to .40 a print.
Check out this review, it is on the 630 PS model, but they are almost the same printer. One can stand alone and one has to be connected to the computer.

This is where I purchased mine.

Wal*Marts Fuji do it yourself. Or on my Okidata Laser Color Printer. Or Wal*Mart's one hour, but, only if they have the newer machines.

I have been using the Sony service at: imagestation.com

The prints are not expensive, but the shipping will get you unless you plan your orders well.

My favorite part of the service is that they will store your images for free. I sleep better at night knowing my pictures are stored somewhere besides my own computer.

I am a fairly new digital camera owner, but it has been great. I love coming home and being able to view my pictures right away. It has certainly changed the way I think about photography.

For anyone who belongs to Costco, they have a printing service on-site. I can't speak for the entire country, but the two stores closest to me here in So Cal have a great deal. They have devices set out on the counter at the photo department that can read multiple types of media. You select what size and type of prints you want and then select which of the files on your media you want printed (all via a touch screen ). They are copied down to a hard drive, and the prints are ready the next day. They are currently only charging .19 cents per print (4x6). If can be time consuming if you have a large card to go through and select which pictures you want, so I've been doing the selecting at home and burning to a CDRW which it can also read. I then just click the "select all" box. I've been happy with the pictures, the 1 day turn around, and you can't beat the price. The only issue I've had is with the cropping. I added some logos to the lower corner of a couple of files and lost part of them, so I just make sure to leave extra space around the subject if I'm cropping the files myself. It would be interesting to find out if this same service is available in other states. Anyone?

We print ours at home with HP 940c printer on Kodak Ultima paper. I can choose the prints I want and the size. I usually print 3- 4x6 on each sheet. We keep our eye on the Sunday sale papers for the office supply stores and stock up on paper when it's on sale (sometimes buy 1 get one free, sometimes buy 2 get 1 free). We share photos with most of our family online, but my MIL does not have a computer so I print 3x5s for her (4 per sheet).
