Difficulty changing Fantasmic! dining reservation

Has anyone run into booking problems when calling yesterday or today? I had booked a party of 4 for the Fantasmic! package at Mama Melrose on January 9, on Sunday (our 180+10 day). Yesterday I confirmed that my parents will be joining us at WDW and I'd like to change that package to a party of 6, but the reservation agents yesterday evening and this morning are telling me they're running into errors, and the one this morning said that not all availability for January is released yet so she's not sure if there would be availability at some point, but that she wasn't able to add to my reservation just now and keep trying back.

So, is this just me, or is it a more widespread problem? Or, put a different way, is it a "keep trying back" situation because (a) all tables are booked and keep trying for something to open up, or (b) there is a system issue and keep trying until the system is functioning properly? The agents last night made it sound more like (b), but just now I was getting more of an (a) vibe (or a combo of a and b).

And I was just so close to having all these reservations settled! :rotfl:

I trust that the CMs were having trouble if that's what they said, but F! packages book up just about immediately so I don't think it's all that surprising that you're having trouble changing only a day later.

if you can't get a party of 6 F! reservation, keep your 4 and try for a reservation for 2 for the folks...

I actually suggested that when I called again just a bit ago, and I think it was a combination of that and an agent who was willing to keep trying different ways to get a solution that finally made it (mostly) work. :thumbsup2

She still wasn't able to modify my existing reservation, but when she started looking for a separate table for 2, she saw that there seemed to be a fair amount of availability, so she tried again for a completely new reservation for 6, and was able to book it. Now, the funny (or scary) thing was that after fully booking the new reservation, she was still unable to even cancel my original one. It's like a zombie ADR. She suggested I try back in an hour or so, which I still need to do once the kids are asleep. But as long as I have my 6, I'm pretty satisfied and we'll figure out the cancellation somehow.

Keep calling back and try to gt the original reservation canceled as you don't want them to charge your credit card for being a no show.:sad2:
