Difficult decison - WWYD?

Good luck with your interview :wizard: :wizard: hopefully you will be offered this job then that will help make the decision for you.

good luck with your interview Joh, and good luck with all the decision making x

When would you have to start the job Joh?

How old are Sian & Rea now?

My gut says go for it.

Nat you can get TalkTalk that has free calls to the USA

I missed page 3 somehow so didn't see your update.

Lots of luck with the interview.

Good luck with your interview:goodvibes

Coming from someone that had the same decision of sorts to make 6 years ago I would say go for it. You will get plenty snow there, didn't they just about beat a record for the amount of snow they got? Wonderful opportunity for all the family.

I have just come back from my look see in Abu Dhabi and after living in Muscat for 6 years I am ready for a move so within 10 days the packers will be in and we will be off to start the next life chapter.

Good luck in whatever you decide to do. Would imagine you and Nat will have to get yourself geared up with Skype though for all the long chats.:lmao:

Good luck with the interview Joh. As somebody who works a 10 minute walk from home I can definitely tell you a short commute is worth it's weight in gold!

Good luck with your interview:goodvibes

Thanks all - I did get 'head hunted' today too - got a call from somebody in Bristol who has a vacant post but I really don't want to work in Bristol if I can help it (that's even further away) so I passed him on to my colleague and he has an informal interview on Thursday.

I'm actually secretly quite pleased that my boss could end up in a situation where she loses both her members of staff ;)

Wow it all sounds very exciting both the DC and local job! My sister moved to NYC with her job just over a year ago, she has an almost 2 y/o and almost 3 y/o so schooling isn't a factor but they're loving it and although they're planning to return before the boys start school they're loving the whole experience!

Good luck with the local interview :goodvibes

Joh,
What a fabulous opportunity. I LOVE Washington, DC. However, there's one factor for your consideration that I haven't found among the comments and tips everyone has been sending. I'm a little late joining the conversation, but if you are still weighing things I think you should take a look at the cost of living in DC, particularly the cost of housing. Other than an isolated conclave of the very wealthy here or there, DC is THE most expensive place in the country to live. If you haven't yet, take a look at the cost of houses and condos in DC. Even with the pound/dollar rate in your favor unless there's some break on housing cost for you because of your position you might be shocked at how much of your income would be absorbed by that single item in your budget. Having said that, if you can afford it, what an exciting and beautiful place to live.
