Ok, I got impatient while rating for rates from a local AAA office so I called another AAA office in town.
For the EXACT same trip, I am being quoted two different rates:
$2545.65 from one and
$2365.80 from the other
Difference of $179.85

What could this difference be? Do different AAA offices get different prices?

Here is what I asked both of the agents to quote:
May 5-9 2006
2 std. rooms at the Pop Century
4 day hopper passes plus dining
Magical Express transfers
No travel insurance

Any ideas what the diff could be? Should I just go with the cheaper one and consider it a little bit of WDW magic early? :bitelip:

Thanks!

Rachel

Do you have 3 adults in your party? If so, its insurance. Insurance costs just under $60 per adult.

If not, please tell us about your party, number of adults, number and ages of children.

Different AAA offices have different contracts and services.

I know, I live in an area that is bordered by two AAAs

AAA MidAtlantic and AAA North Penn

Yes, that is true, but I am sure that it is the national AAA that has a contract with Disney, not each of the regional ones. I have heard of certain AAA offices charging service or cancellation fees, but this amount of $179.85 is just so conveniently close to the travel insurance cost of $59.90 each for 3 adults that I would bet that it was insurance.

:confused3 I gave both offices our party information
ME
DH
DD - 22 mos
my mom
my sis 13
So maybe it is insurance. I asked specifically for no insurance though :confused3

it's the insurance. I had to remind my agent 3 x's to remove it.

Hmmm...my agent send me an insurance brochure and papers to sign whether we want insurance or not. That's strange that they would automatically put insurance without your signature, no?

It was only a rate quote.

Many agencies will have you sign a paper at the time of booking, especially if you refuse insurance, stating that you won't sue the agency for something that would have been covered under insurance that you didn't purchase.
