Aside from the aesthetic differences b/w the two classes of resorts, are there other differences within the rooms? Specifically, are the beds more comfy in the mod resorts? Just wondering what makes up the big price difference aside from the visual "fluff."

Thanks! :)

All of the mods have queen beds except for caribbean beach. Values have full size beds. And the rooms at all of the mods are larger.

Floor space! For me, it doesn't matter but DH found the mods more comfortable since there was more floor space. CSR had these sliding doors to separate the bathroom sink area and the sleeping area.:wizard:

The rooms at POR, POFQ & CSR have queen beds and newly renovated rooms! They all look so nice now! I really like what they did to Coronado Springs rooms! The moderates also have double sinks, except for CSR so that is nice to have more room to get ready. They are also bigger than the value rooms in size too.

I know you asked about in the rooms, but outside mods have pool slides and hot tubs. They also have more dining options. POR and POFQ have boat transportation to DTD. The atmosphere of the mods is more relaxing, with more landscaping than the value resorts which tend to have large icons and a lot concrete.

The mods have covered bus stops which is a huge factor in the heat of the summer.

The queen beds make a huge difference for us. The rooms are slightly bigger. And the covered bus stops are a big deal in the hot season!

I used to have a pre-made list but I can't find it.

Moderate rooms are bigger, at 314 sq. ft. (except for 340 sq. ft. at Caribbean Beach Resort) as compared with 260 sq. ft. at the Values.

Moderate rooms have a ceiling fan, Values don't.

Moderate rooms have queen beds (except CBR has double beds), Values have double beds.

Moderate bathrooms have two sinks (except for Coronado Springs Resort), Value bathrooms have only one sink.

Moderates have covered bus stops (think protection from sun and rain), Values don't.

Moderates (except for the pleasantly small Port Orleans French Quarter) have multiple internal bus stops (which means less of a walk from room to bus), Values have only a single stop.

Moderates (except for POFQ) have a table-service restaurant and a food court, Values have only a food court.

Moderates have a pool slide at the main pool, Values don't.

Moderates have a hot tub at the main pool, Values don't.

Moderates have pool towels available at the main pool, Values (usually) don't.

Moderates have some type of additional recreational activity (boat rental, carriage ride, etc.), Values don't.

Moderates have lush landscaping, Values tend to have more paved "hardscaping."

At Moderates, the maximum room charge limit is $1,000. At Values, it's $500. Once you reach your limit, you can just set up another one.

I think that about covers it.

Thanks for all the info! For us, the room is basically just a place to sleep. We are at one of the parks every day from open to close. So it sounds like there's no real advantage for us to upgrade other than the free dining plan being better (assuming we can get it and we would upgrade that). I'm guessing the big price bump to deluxe would be even less worthwhile. Oh and we'll have a car so the transportation stuff isn't a big deal for us either.
